At least it saves them from getting embarrassed by Louisville.
Never been concerned about the conference tournament. Go home, enjoy selection Sunday. Not the end of the world.
Exhibition games.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Probably drops them to a 4 or even 5 seed though.
Couple missed calls didn't help...but glad to see this team has no issues pissing down it's leg in the BET.
I hate scoop.

4 seed before, I still think 4 seed after.
when was the last MU win in the BE tournament? I think its been 3 years without one now.

Two years ago they beat Providence, WVU and lost to Georgetown in the semis...if memory recalls.
Who cares about the BET? I'm just annoyed because the loss was to ND.
MU is in the big dance. Rest up and get ready for Bucknell (or whoever)...or overreact and decide that the last 3+ months meant nothing and this team is doomed. Doomed, I tell you!!! DOOOOOMED!!!!
Should all be used to this. This team can't play in this building and tournament.
No kidding.... This team has so overperformed this year this would've just been icing on the cake

OK, stand corrected, its been two years now with no BE wins.

Go to that d-bag board owned by Dodds. Say something he don't like, get banned, come back here.
Good news: Buzz can hit 2014 recruiting trail.

Pretty sure he's been banned.

And we had a couple of pretty good tourney runs the past 2 years so no need to gnash our teeth over this loss.
Indeed, the bright side is that even if we beat ND, there was not a good chance to beat UL, they would have cleaned us up off the floor.
We got our ass kicked last year in the BET. Made the sweet 16. The NCAA is all that matters. Hopefully we get a good draw on Sunday.

Yup yup.
Anyway, go Hoyas!!
Just because MU would have gotten blown out by Louisville doesn't make the ND loss any better for me. I think MU will be ok. Hopefully come into the tourney with an attitude and not get bullied like they did tonight.

I'll take that trade-off again for sure, just think it may not work out that way this year.
don't want to start another thread - but this is another Lather, Rinse, Repeat performance with respect to the Big East tourney...

To be honest it all depends on match ups. Wouldn't be surprised to see this team lost its first game, wouldn't be surprised to see this team make it to the elite 8. It all depends on who we get.

I would be pretty surprised to see us in the Elite 8. I just don't like the way we have played the last few games. I can see us one and done next week.
I hate losing in the Big East tourney. I hate it that this is the last one with all the teams, and MU didn't win one. I wanted MU to go to NYC and show those mf'ers that we were the toughest team in the league.
while winning the last few games of year, the performances have not been stellar - need a big turnaround or else a first round exit is likely...

Tough sure, not that talented though.
BE Tournament is for TV, I'm never worried about it unless its making the tournament.
Big East tourney is about tough more than talented. The play of the night was in the UL game when they showed the closeup of raking a guy's arm from behind with no foul call. You just have to play more aggressive all the time. Hit the other guy first. It's what Pitino complimented MU on their rebounding on earlier in the year. Create the collision.
Can you imainge this board in 2003 after losing to UAB in the first round of the CUSA tournament?

Unfortunately I think this hurts Big East teams come NCAA time.

The most talented teams in the BE are playing tomorrow. Probably not the toughest though.

Did they really? And we all know what happened in the tourney in 03.

They did. Spectacularly. 30 turnover spectacularly. I won't blame you if you repressed the memory.

Yeah, #3 on MU was 3-12 and had 10 turnovers in the game. He had an ok NCAA tournament if I recall.

Anything can happen in the tournament, but that 2003 team was a lot better than this team. Hopefully we get a good draw next week.

No question about that. With the defensive rebounding/turnover issues this team has had, I'll be over the moon if they get to the second weekend again.

Surprised? I'd say more like in cardiac arrest.
Let's face it, we played poorly in our last 2 league games against weak opponents and were lucky to win. Now, we play that way against a better team and this is the result. When we had a 17-4 lead and kept turning the ball over, well, that was the turning point of the entire game.
Blew it. Very disappointing.
