Title: Bobby Capobianco playing now for Valpo
Post by: keefe on March 13, 2013, 01:04:47 AM
I was surprised to see that Bobby Capobianco is still playing ball. He was recruited hard by a previous coach to come to Marquette but ended up enrolling at IU. He has size but is slow and he ended up transferring to Valpo. From the stats it looks like he never really developed at the Div I level. It seems like an eternity since he did his official to Marquette and he's still just a junior. This guy was almost our starting 4. His story reads a lot like Amo.

Valpo's 2 best players are both PF and both seniors. Bobby should get more playing time next season and should make more of an impact. He was never a high major talent.

Wasn't MU also in on LaVonte Dority?

MU was in on Dority who played for the Chicago Elite. He also had an offer from KU but ended up going to USF. He must have transferred to Valpo.

Yep, Capo was Crean'd to make room for the movement. Doesn't play much, but has rebounded well this season.

Capo is doing exactly what he was recruited to do.  Rebound and set ball screens.  He was Creaned\Buzzcut\Newbilled\Capo'd because he didn't do those things that well. Writing was on the wall.

Capo actually played for I4. Newbill never applied to Marquette.

Was Capo in the same class as Nick Williams and Malik Story?

One year after. Capobianco was 2009, Nick & Malik were 2008.
