Title: Stats can lie ... at least some stats!

Marquette had more giveaways than takeaways and had only 30 more assists than TOs.

MU shot .299 from 3-point range. Only one player hit more than a third of his treys -- and even he didn't crack 36%.

Marquette had just 2 double-figure scorers. The top scorer averaged under 15.

MU's best player, a guard, had more turnovers than assists, made under 30% of his 3-point attempts and had only 28 steals in 29 games.

No Marquette player averaged 5 rebounds. On the season, opponents grabbed more offensive rebounds.

Both the starting center and the backup point guard failed to hit 50% of their free throws.

Marquette's leading shot-blocker averaged under 1 per game.

I know there are lots of great stats that help explain why the team won, but it's still pretty amazing that Buzz's lads were able to overcome those numbers to win a share of the Big East title. What a season!
