*Newcomers to Big East football want more money. They claim that 10% of the $10 Million pot isnt enough to compensate them for joining a league that has dropped off this significantly. Without us, BE Football doesnt even exist.

Man, I gotta say, JerseyGuy is on the ball with this conference realignment stuff. Especially with respect to the BE and C7+

Wow, this America 12 is starting off well. Three schools hoard a bunch of money and the others want more. This league is destined to go down in flames.

They can threaten to not join...but I think CUSA might have already moved on with replacements, so it might be harder to stay put. Got to love the irony of wanting more money because the league is worse than expected, but the league is worse in part because they were going to join. Glad they aren't the C7/New Big East's problem.

Yeah, CUSA is losing six teams to the A12, but has already added *8* new teams. (Charlotte, Old Dominion, San Antonio, LA Tech, North Texas, Middle Tenn, Florida Atlantic, Florida International.)
A school like SMU or Houston *might* have options...the Mountain West for example. But the rest of them? The only real option that I can think of is that they go do their own thing and add a couple schools from elsewhere. But I doubt that is more lucrative than this.
That door for Houston & SMU to come to the Mt. West closed, since San Diego State & Boise State are back. Plus, San Jose State & Utah State join the Mt. West in July.

I don't know if doors are ever really "closed" with conference realignment. Adding two teams from Texas *might* be valuable...it might not.
But I think this all gets worked out anyway because most of the incoming schools have no other realistic options.
