Title: Are We All Nova Fans Tonight?
Post by: Tugg Speedman on March 06, 2013, 08:42:44 AM
If Nova can pull it off tonight (hosting Georgetown) it would be epic!

Of course.  For our place in the standings, and for the C7's sake we need a win tonight and one in the BET to feel good about their tournament chances.

Hopefully this is somewhat of a trap game for GT with the excitement of one final regular season game against Syracuse on the horizon.

If the Hoya don't paranoia tonight it will assuredly be down to an amazing performance by Nova. Like, 1985 amazing.

No shot a JTIII program, with a star like Otto on the epic run to the title they are on, will overlook tonight in favor of Saturday.

It is possible though...BEast Championship is there and they could be looking down the road to Saturday. Nova is desperate right now and is playing their last game of the season, 3 game losing streak to end the season doesn't look good on their tourney resume. I wouldn't be surprised to see Nova give Georgetown everything it has.

I've seen Georgetown a lot this year (live in DC).  Frankly, they are not a top 5 team.  They're really good, but losing to a good team on the road would not be a huge surprise.  Vegas agrees, as they have Nova as a one point favorite right now.

I'm not doubting the 'Cats can win. They've already beaten the other three good teams in the league.

I'm doubting the intimation that the Hoyas will be preoccupied with Saturday. JTIII and Otto won't allow a sloppy, unfocused, undisciplined performance.

As far as I'm concerned MU is playing Georgetown tonight.  Come on Nova!

They're so reliant on Porter. Lately, he's had to score a ton for them to win. One off night for him, and I think they drop one.

This game will come down to the wire similar to the UCONN game last week. Hopefully, there's a different result. I'm little disappointed that the game isn't at the Pavilion, but then again, they beat UL and Cuse at Wells Fargo.

Agreed.  I honestly think they will drop their last two games and end up third.

Can you have the same belief that UL will lose to ND as well?

I could, but I'd be lying.  Think Louisville takes the 1 seed, but MU still shares the regular season title with them.  Probably just wishful thinking on Georgetown, but they play with a thin margin, and are facing two desperate teams.  And I've been to Georgetown-Cuse games in DC...the crowd is usually 60-40 in favor of Cuse.

I believe that is correct, but it delays MU meeting Louisville until Big East tournament final. I would like another crack at Georgetown.

Obviously gotta root for Nova tonight.

We may as well Boiler Up as well tonight... Michigan is playing on the road at Purdue.  Although Mich is ranked far ahead of us in the polls, the gap over MU is much less when looking at sagarin/warrennolan/rpi.  Mich also has a tough game vs IU over the weekend... it would be nice to leapfrog them by Selection Sunday for pod and seeding considerations.

Hell no! MU's seeding/placement will take care of itself...want Michigan to win tonight, and beat IU Saturday, and Ohio State to win @ home vs. Illinois Saturday. Obviously UW is going to lose in East lansing tomm night, so if those other things happen..UW will be the 5th seed in the B10 tourney and have to play Thursday. Sorry, I just hate them and their fans with a passion and any misery that can be put upon them, even if small, i root for.

Five minutes to game time.

Georgetown is evil and must be destroyed!

That was not an amazing performance. Nova played well, but Georgetown helped them a ton. Bad turnovers and fouls.

Just a guess here, if MU had played like Georgetown, you would be talking about how MU crap their pants and such.

47% overall. 50% from three. 15 steals. 42 attempted free throws. Pretty amazing numbers for a mid-level conference team.

I would and I have as we've seen MU with 20 turnover games multiple times these last few weeks. Even with the uncanny TOs from the Hoyas, Nova needed everything they got to win.

A solid game indeed, but definitely 1985 amazing. Just pointing out that anything can happen in college BBall.
