Post by: Aughnanure on March 05, 2013, 08:55:16 PM
Have fun reading (and trying to figure out) this gigantic terrible mess.

What did they use to run the "simulation"? They don't mention using KenPom numbers or a video game or whatever.

They used whatifsports.com.

My only takeaway from this is that whatifsports is completely inaccurate. No way Dayton would finish 3rd this year and no way DePaul would have more wins than Providence.

Dayton 3rd? That simulation is a joke.

This is supposed to be off of last season's numbers to.  Clearly poorly done simulations.

This simulation clearly has some major flaws.  And I know this was a redo of this year, but I want to talk about next year because that's nearly all I can think about between this year's games in general and Steve Taylor specifically. With Porter likely gone, we will have the best returning core along with the best recruiting class.  By far.  We're gonna clean up in the New Big East next year.  I'll be shocked if we aren't in the same or better position for the regular season conference title in 365 days.  Exciting times ahead.

PTM is going to love these projections.

I'd love to bet against the simulation that says MU is only good enough for 3 wins and 5 losses at home.

This is the dumbest simulation I've ever seen.  Dayton at 9-7, MU at 8-8, and an up-and-coming Providence team at 4-13? I can post bullish*t on a web page and call it a simulation, too. What a waste of my time.
