I am toying with the idea of making the trip for this last big shebang of a Big East Tourney. It would really be a "well the hell, why not?" decision, totally by the seat of my pants.
It would sure be a lot more fun if I were able to hang out with some other Marquette types, at least before and after games.
Anybody else thinking about going?
Me and a buddy of mine who lives in NYC thinking about going. I recall last years tourney being pretty cheap, but that was the first year I contemplated going so i wasnt sure if that was an anomaly. How much are tickets usually? Right now on stubhub theyre going for about $85
Be there Thursday. My fifth trip. Never seen MU win.

Me and a few of my buddies are going. We should set up a Marquette bar for the weekend.

Must have gotten to NYC late the years that you went because MU has a win each year except two.

I'm getting in Wednesday. I'm thinking about hitting of the sessions that day. Should I scalp outside or buy online beforehand?
I'll be there next weekend for the St Johns game, but if Marquette makes the championship game, I might make the trip from DC to NYC again.
I'm in for Thurs & Fri. This double bye is huge for a guy for who booked Wed afternoon flights in Nov.
On the other hand I have never seen a loss in the NCAAs. 2 wins, mizzou 03 and Murray St last year

I think most of the New York alumni meet up at Windfall in New York for games. It's located on 39th and between 5th avenue and Avenue of the Americas, so not too far from the Garden.

Going with my dad. We went when the the Amigos were seniors. Have been looking to get back since then. It was an absolute blast.

I'm also going Saturday, is this the meet up spot?
Now I'm starting to get psyched about the possibility.
I just told my wife about an hour ago that I was thinking about it and she didn't respond with "Oh no you're not," so what the hell, right?!?!?!
Wife and I will be there for the whole tourney. We've been meaning to go for years now, and it just so happens it falls on our first wedding anniversary, yet I think she might be more excited than I am. Can't wait to take in the entirety of the last year of the BEast tourney as I've always known it.
Yeah missed a couple wins. Only saw the elimination game.
My wife and I are flying in on Tuesday for the BET.....Never have been, but have talked about it every year, figured since it is the last year, time to go.....have been to Greensboro'74; Atlanta '77 and N. Orleans '03 so might as well make this one.....Have niece and nephew to visit in the City..... Bought ticket packages for 2 of us as season ticket holders....a "real bargain" at $470@ for all sessions.....I'm told student tickets are available for student season ticket holders for $10 a game when MU plays.... The team and MU hotel is the Westin at Times Square for the MU bargain rate of $389/nt +.....We are flying our 2 sons in Thursday who have never been to NYC. We have a hotel 2 blocks from MSG and around the corner from the announced MU bar Mustang Harry's located at 352 7th Ave., about 3 blocks from MSG. GO WARRIORS!

Windfall doesn't have any deals going on. I say we find a place where vortex's aren't $7.
Vision Expo East...largest optical expo in the country that weekend...NICE! "Business trip" ;D

Where are you all meeting up? Will be down for the St Johns game with my father in law via CT.

You will note that no teal was present in this post..... ;)
I'll be there for 7th time. Arriving on Wed am and will watch 11 games.
With it likely that we'll play at 7 or 9 on Thursday, I'll probably fly in that day ... if I can free up the funds for the fun!!
Went to BE tourney first three years but missed for awhile until this year. Flying in on Wed with two other guys (6 am flight out of Milw). BB is always awesome but closing the bars at 4 am is close second. LOVE meeting other fans and talking BB. Except Pitt fans, hate em. Got to the SB in Dallas and had my revenge. Still think the Garden is a dump but when that place is full and rocking it is a pretty cool atmosphere to be in. Still, closing the bars at 4 am and just watching all the other conf tourney games, meeting other fans, it's the best!!

I'll be there with MarqKC. Looking forward to the last, great Big East tourney.

That's living life. Good for you, hope you and your family have a great time and I'll maybe run into you out there!
Tickets came in the mail today. Section 211, row 5. Upper level, but center court. Never been to MSG, so have no idea of the quality of the seats.
I don't even have tickets yet. How easy/difficult is it to get them? Does it sell out every session? I'd really rather not have to pay double face value from a scalper.

I don't have tickets either and have been told that scalpping is the best/cheapest way to get some, any truth to this? Oh and I'll be going with 4 other alums

Scalping is very easy. Especially if Cuse and/or Pitt lose early.
Great event. Not going this year but may go back next year for the new league. 2014 Big East champs!

You do want to do the official Marquette bar before the games. They usually have some complimentary things, plus give aways, etc.
It is a great time.
While I'm a big college hoops fan, I have very little interest in watching any games not involving The Gold. Is that weird?
Still working out logistics of my potential trip. I'm sure everybody is on pins and needles while I try to get things worked out ...
See y'all at Mustang Harry's
