For those of you (*******) who left the BC after the game and didn't watch the senior night celebration..
It was great. One of the most .. entertaining .. in a while. Buzz was short and sweet, and did chat for a bit on how amazing 25-0 winning streak / back-to-back BE home undefeated is..
Trent Lockett lost his composure and was mobbed by the team for a while .. lots of tears there.
Junior's send off was emotional .. great .. he's a ham. Well done.
You have some video for us that left early...erh, I mean couldn't be in Milwaukee today? :D
What's the status of Lockett's mother. I recall reading she has made a medical recovery. Hopefully she was able to make today.
(I stopped taking senior night video a few years ago when MU started posting their video efforts.)
Yes, Trent's mom was there.

Good. I am glad. And I am glad she got to watch him contribute to his team in so many ways this season. We are better for his having become a Warrior. Thanks.
Why was Lockett's jersey a baby blue and Cadougan's a gold? Just the person preference of the player?
Here's a few pics..

Geez, they look good. Blend into the background perfectly.
Junior's Mom really dressed up.
I love the senior ceremony. Thought the fan turnout (holdover?) was pretty good today as well.
It's pretty cool that this one season meant enough to Lockett to be that emotional. Seems as though the team/coaches bonded really well.
I bet the people that complain and moan about the students not showing up to the game, were the same punks who left early. Must be nice to have double standards.
I've been to a lot of Senior Days over the years (not today, unfortunately) and the postgame stuff is usually the best part !

I'll take that bet.
Superfans .. like those who'd complain about students not showing .. are staying for the ceremony.
It wouldn't be Senior Day without people bitching on here about people who didn't stay. Every year.
WE ARE MARQUETTE!!!!!! Wish we have finish a little better. HATE ND
Junior's Mom did indeed dress up. I felt undressed for the day after seeing her outfit.
Since he graduated, did Lockett have a senior day at ASU? Glad he bonded with his MU team mates. This season at MU must have made a really positive impression for him; especially playing for a winning team.

I think he did. He had already decided to transfer at that point. He just did not know where he was going.
Who is the blond lady that Cadougan is kissing? I am assuming his mom is the lady with the roses all decked out.
His 'other Mom'--hugs and kisses her before every game. Don't know anymore than that.

I love how Junior went to each person as he mentioned them, kissing all the females..
I lost it watching Trent.. glad to have him at MU this year!!
Junior doing the Rock's, "if ya smellllllll, what Marquette, is cookin!" was awesome.
Ceremony was short but very well done and moving. MU included the 4 senior managers and their families which was a nice touch. Lockett choking up and his teammates coming to his "rescue" was a clear indication of the team's togetherness. Trent said he's never had the tightness on a team he's played on that MU has. Junior was very comfortable with the mic, did a great job. Don't understand how anyone (short of an emergency) wouldn't stay for it.

Its his host "mom" that took him in when he came to the US to play basketball.
Really enjoyed senior celebration today. When Trent started to cry you could see how close a team they are. I really hope Chris Otule comes back next year for many reasons, least of which to see his career celebrated in the same way.

I can't blame her. I'll bet this day was huge for her.
I watched Hoop Dreams last night until 0330. One of the things that jumped out is how the men in the Gates and Agee families lived vicariously through them. Gates' brother Curtis said in the film, "All my dreams are in him now." Agee's father Bo celebrated Marshall's CPL Championship more than his son, saying he always wanted to be a winner but had to do it through his boy.
For the women, it was hope that their sons would have a better life. Emma Gates repeated over and over. "He needs to stick there for four years...." while Sheila Agee just wanted her son to get the hell out of West Garfield Park and get a college degree.
Even though he may come back was Otule not a senior this year? Should'nt he have been included in senior day?
I don't recall missing a senior day ceremony, and my strong guess is that this one was the best attended, which makes sense because of the size of the game crowd, and a nice win.
And to echo a comment by Hilltopper in another thread, Marquette does a very nice job producing these game time events.

On Buzz's show this week he mentioned the Otule didn't want to be recognized this year and didn't want to go to Big East media day (which Buzz takes his seniors to).

One more year of jump hooks!
They really need to move the ceremony to
before the game.

Focus, focus, focus. As much as I like awards ceremonies ops always come first.

Disagree...keep focus on the game, then celebrate.
Of course...sucks when we lose on senior day. Glad that wasn't the case today!
Speaks volumes that Lockett got choked up, and his teammates responded like they did. Credit to Buzz and staff for the atmosphere they create.
Can anyone paraphrase what Lockett was saying when he got choked up?
I loved everything about this ceremony. I loved that Buzz kept his comments to a minimum and let the seniors be the stars. It was great to see the managers get a moment in the spotlight. They give so much to the team and deserve the recognition. I love the emotion the players show standing there with their families. I loved how emotional Trent got so much love from the whole team. Junior showed just how much of a ham he is and I loved his mom and her beautiful gold dress...she rocked that court.
For those that left early, ya missed out.
I'd actually like to see Buzz talk a little longer. I know he's trying to let the kids have the limelight, but Buzz is a great speaker, and I'd think it's an honor for the "boss" to say a bunch of nice things about you in front of 10,000 people.
Lockett has totally grown on me.
Early in the year, all I could think about was how unathletic he was and how much he didn't meet the expectations I had set for him.
But as he settled into his role, and as I adjusted my expectations to be more realistic, I came to really appreciate all the little things (and a few big things) he does for the team.
He has had a very nice last 4-5 weeks and I hope it continues. I am glad he decided to join us and wish him nothing but the best going forward.
He is a perfect advertisement for the necessity to have patience when judging athletes.
