Followed that link "Saunders won't attend Marquette" and there's another related article on that site saying there are many rumors about where's he's going and most point to Duquesne.
His high school coach, Bill Barton, is now a coach at Duquense. This has been rumoured for awhile. I would not be surprised to see Saunders end up there.
;D

Duquense just lost their leading scorer who will transfer out. Averaged 16 points per game and was the A-10 rookie of the year

Good for him, go on and get an education, I would have liked for to be at MU, but I wish him nothing but the best.

Are MU's academic standards that much higher than Duq's?

Duq had a spot, we didn't. DS' former coach is on their staff now. If we had a spot, safe to say DS would probably be on the team here.
good luck, Damian

Duquesne doesnt even mention why MU didnt accept him.
neither did MU..., we used the ole' "academics" routine. It seems to me that Duquesne is quite a step down from MU, and I'm surprised he is leaning that way. Weren't there other 'major' schools interested in him?

It's September. Rare is the situation where an open scholarship is simply sitting there for a young player to take. Since the Dukes #1 scorer left school last week that opening made the decision easy for Saunders.

The only other major school that offered a scholarship was Providence. Cincy and Tennessee recruited him, but didn't offer a scholarship, his final 3 were MU, Providence and Rhode Island.
