The NCAA's holiday tourney "waiting period" no longer applies...
Bone up on your paddle surfing skills, haoles; we're going back to Maui in 2015.
Where do the conference records go? B-Ball, Track, XC, V-Ball, Futbol, etc...

ARE we techically in a new conference? Or will the agreement be structured in way where legally, everyone but the C-7 leaves the Big East?

Damn good question. I wouldn't be surprised if that hasn't been figured out yet. Technically we're leaving the conference, but we're taking the conference name with us, so....

UConn, Cincy, et. al. are keeping the commish, so I believe that it will be us that are leaving.

I've wondered the same thing. Does it turn out that UConn, Cincy et al are actually the ones leaving the BEast? Do we get to keep Aresco? Do we want to? If we are the majority, and we are keeping the name, it seems that we should be the one staying while the others are leaving. An odd turn of events, if that's how it comes to pass.

The new league could hire the old commish.

Only the Big East name assets are being purchased according to what's been disclosed.
But it's certainly possible that the agreement could be structured in such a manner... frankly, it sounds like everything has been on the table for quite some time, so we should get more details soon.

Not likely since Aresco's been representing the old league in its negotiations with the C7 and the TV networks, as well as being the babysitter for the new schools coming in.
Aresco can kiss my a$$. Have fun with Tulane.

By "New League" I meant the one that WON'T be called the Big East. Sorry for the confusion.

Agreed. I want no part of his employment and communication strategy.
