Still gotta pass up JTIII just to get BE COY. Surprised at the love shown for Jim Crews, not that it's unwarranted.
Later, King also says nobody plays harder than Marquette and picks our lads to beat ND in a low-scoring game.
Oh, and it's odd to see a number of potential coaching vacancies discussed without Buzz being rumored for all of them!
1. Jim Larranaga, Miami - 46 (3)
2. Jim Crews, Saint Louis - 40 (1)
3. John Thompson III, Georgetown - 39
4. Buzz Williams, Marquette - 21 (1)
Here's the 5 voters: Eamonn Brennan, Andy Katz, Jason King, Myron Medcalf and Dana O'Neil
I'm extremely curious in finding out who the "1" was that voted Buzz in first place.

That will happen in about 90 minutes when they lose to Uconn

Which coaching jobs? I feel like this year's carousel should be pretty tame.

Got the inevitable "Marquette plays harder then anyone" note....
Job Openings? Umm how bout Texas when Mr. Barnes is booted? Commence hand wringing all over, starting w/me.....Love Buzz and want him to retire in MKE

Barnes isn't going anywhere yet. He's done enough to earn one year on the outside looking in, especially with his best player missing most of the year. If they miss again next year he'll start feeling the heat, but I am pretty sure he'll be back.

If Texas fires Barnes because of one struggling year after years of good performances then one would have to think long and hard about taking the job as you too will be out after one year (as in next year).
That said, Barnes is going nowhere and when Texas rebounds next year, this talk will die.

Landing Julius Randle would certainly help his cause as well

But if Dixon-to-USC/Miller-to-Pitt scenario plays out, the Arizona job might be attractive.
On the other hand, its not just one year with Texas. They'e gone from 2 Sweet 16s, 2 Elite Eights and 1 final four in the seven years from 2002 to 2008 to four straight years of first weekend exits and a likely non-tournament season this year.

I'll believe this when it happens

The only way I see Dixon going back to the City of Angels is if UCLA comes calling. This isn't football.

Arizona is a much better job than Pitt. Even with Miller being an alum, a coach doesn't leave Zona for Pitt.

Rather bad loss by UConn. That game was over and the Huskies pissed the bed.
Bad coaching by UConn, bad use of time outs and no set plays late in the shot clock.

I thought it was crap the bed ... or is piss the bed what you do when you are banned from post season play?

Credit Georgetown, UConn had this game won in the second OT and blew it. Contrast Otto Porter calmly driving right down the lane for the game-winner with Boatright taking a terrible shot instead of passing to one of TWO open teammates under the basket and Napier taking a horrible shot at the end of the second OT with three guys guarding him.

In the W \ L column they don't care. That win was the type where you win a conference title. You could say G'Town crapped the bed up by 5 with 11 seconds left and went to OT. That game was over, Georgetown pissed the bed...but they didn't, they got up off the mat and kept playing. Good win for them.
Later in the article, Jim Boeheim is listed at "Makes a fool out of himself during press conference."
Pretty impressive with Buzz being #4. Somewhat surprised due to many guys having great years. I know Chico's thinks no one outside of MU nation knows who Buzz is but I think this shows what a star he is becoming. Aside from on court performance I think is persona helps a great deal.

It was Jason King. He's been pumping Buzz on Twitter as his NCOY choice if they win the Big East.
