this team is not very good, maybe one win in tourney...
Doesn't mean we can't be pissed after a loss. >:(
Horrible tonight, hopefully better effort Monday.

Thanks for reminding me why I need to stay away for this board after a loss. I'll be back in 24 hours.
Enjoy your irrational over-reactions.
I thought the bracket comes out march 17.
It's tough to beat a good team on the road. And MU struggles against pressure defense. That's why we lost at Gtown and Louisville...on the road. I expected this to be a another difficult game, just like the loss at Cincinnati.

NOVA has now beaten Louisville, Cuse and MU. Thats pretty impressive. They are now playing well at the right time. MU playing poorly at the wrong time.
Buzz wasn't very good either. They looked clueless against a simple zone press. Either it wasn't scouted, or he's bereft of ideas when it comes to a press break.
Correct. This team isn't very good. On The Road. They struggle with pumped, loud gyms. Big deal, we know that. Good thing there's no away games in the tourney. Quit overreacting.

One win in the tourney would be a pretty good year as far as I am concerned. Especially if Bucky craps out the day before!

Yep, Buzz did nothing to solve the zone press. Love Buzz, but that was on him tonite.

Tournament is a crapshoot, you never know. Great teams can get bounced in one game, average\good teams can make a run. You just never know.

...and no home games either.
But there will be games with teams that utilize the full court press. That high school press break sucks.
lol

19-7, 10-4. MU is that good. MU has exactly one loss in a game that it was favored. (maybe 2. What was the spread on the Butler game? Who cares, great game, fluke loss) MU loses a road conference game to a desperate team fighting for a tourney bid and suddenly MU sucks? Really? Sleep it off.

Agreed. At a minimum get the ball inbounds in a hurry so they can't set up the press. We take forever to set up our press breaker which gives them all the time in the world to get the press set. Otule was generally left alone long but we are (understandably) afraid of making long passes to him.

MU *CAN BE* that good. Too many TOs tonight. Didn't get to the line that they usually do.
Bad game.
Luckily, it doesn't hurt our tourney chances.

It's not just today, either. They never screen against the press. Pitt made them look really bad in the last few minutes.
If Syracuse presses like Nova did... with their length, MU might have 25 TOs.

But don't worry, they were the best team in college basketball because they won the national championship. ;) (heavy sarcasm, not at you, but at the idea that the national champion = best team. Sometimes it does, often it does not, and that year was a great example).

Whats frustrating about this loss is that once again we did keep ourselves in the game so we had a chance to win. Nova is a borderline NCAA team and they didn't even play that well BUT we played so poorly that they PULLED AWAY. The 4 point margin is deceptive. I didn't feel as bad after the Cinc game because we made it close and had a chance to win. For the past 6 weeks this team has not been able to turn things around when things start to go back. I thought it was 50/50 we'd win so getting the loss isn't a big surprise. But the way we are losing is a concern.
in the end, this is a 5th to 8th place team in the Big East, yet again...

Marq is a perennial 4th to 9th place team in the big East (except for last year).....
hard to get excited about this team,,,,

It appears MU moves up on space every 2.5 hours after a loss. Is that correct or do I need to do a scatter graph of your predictions over time?
It is 7:40 am right now, that means you have MU finishing between 2nd and 5th and by game time tomorrow night you'll have us winning the conference.

I'd like to know what has happened to Buzz this year? He has disappeared in several games. We need better coaching.

Thought that was pretty funny--it is hard to stay away--especially after yesterday.
