He'd likely be the least talented starting point guard in the country.

As good as Blue is in transition, what makes Cadougan think it's a good idea to keep the ball there?

Yep, they're 3-13 and 0-4 from three.  Keeping us in it.  With the foul trouble we need to go Georgetown style slow this half to stay in it.

7 fouls and 7 turnovers in first nine minutes.  Vander with 3 turnovers, two of which were passes to NOVA players.

NOVA playing man to man and MU is still throwing the ball around waiting for shot clock to go down.  Strange, they do that against zones.

Here you go, ugly:

MU
fg - 29%.  Jr is 0 for 5, DG is 0 for 2, Otule is 0 for 2, Vander is 1 for 6.
Threes- 1 for 4
FTs - 7 for 10
Turnovers - 9
Fouls - 10  DG, Otule, both Wilsons with two each.

NOVA

shooting 27%

The third foul on Bell was huge for MU, since they were playing poorly.
Stop the lazy over the top passes on the trap.
Cut down turnovers and fouls.
Pick up #4 on Bell early.

Hopefully Buzz reams them like Seton Hall game and they come out to play.

What's frustrating is that he is making the exact same mistake every time - absolutely no court awareness. He just stops and waits for the double every single time.

And he never looks to pass to where the double came from - just lobs it cross court

Are you really asking? He just doesn't have high D1 level athleticism.

You have to remember, breaking a full court trap is not a 1 person job.  No one is responding properly to the trap, that is most often going to make the guy with the ball look the idiot.

What's frustrating is that he is making the exact same mistake every time - absolutely no court awareness. He just stops and waits for the double every single time.

And he never looks to pass to where the double came from - just lobs it cross court

No one is filling the space where the double came from.  Someone has to be there to throw the pass.

MU had 18 turnovers, NOVA had 10.  The ball game.

Question now is will they continue poor play and win again.  Cuse, ND, then Rutgers and St. Johns on the road.

I am comfortable with Rutgers, only reason they lost their leading scorer, but the others not at this point.

Shocking loss! Yeah, right.

This one was written way before the tip. Nova needs a win for NCAA, playing in their high school gym (never won here), senior night. Anyone should have seen this was a probable loss, but winnable against this average Nova team. Press this team, play zone against them, guard the 3 and you probably beat this MU team when they're on the road.

Seems like Buzz was trying to force S. Taylor in the rotation too much tonight. Freshman got schooled by a Senior on several plays. Good learning experience for Steve.

Homer and Mac giving accolades to Junior and Steve?! Yeah, nice rebounding by Taylor, but defense suspect. Junior?! Good final 2 mins, that's about it.

I'm not. Your down 6. Take a three. What does 2 get you? He wanted to pad his stats. This team would be really good with a semi decent pg. I regret that I backed him up a week ago when people wanted blue as point guard. I can't wait till he's gone. I don't care Duane or Derrick is worse. I can't wait to never have to see that smug look on his face again after a stupid play.

You always take the easy points.  If you can get a sure layup with only 2 sec off the clock you take it.  You don't throw the ball around for the entire time hoping to get a good 3.  He did exactly what a pg was suppose to do, go to the hope and get quick points.

Junior had a bad game.  The press got to the team.  The players as a whole have no idea where to go to relieve pressure.  That forces bad plays and more TO's for the pg.

True 'dat! Lots of BEast regular season bball left this year. Not a bad loss, but this Nova team is going nowhere even if they get in the Tournament. They'd do well in the NIT if they keep the games at that gym.
