Is Vander Blue worthy of Big East Player of the Year Consideration?
Ask Buzz Williams and he says a flat-out no.

Agree with Buzz, though Vander could easily make 1st Team BE.

I wouldn't go so far as saying "easy" 1st team. Especially how the next couple of weeks shake out, he could be in the discussion.
I think much of this depends on how MU finishes as a team. If we end up co-champs or similar, I'd expect the BEast to name Vander 1st team and Davante 2nd team. Drop them each down a notch if we're a 'double bye' team going into the Garden. There are some really good players in the conference. A few that come to mind are Otto, Siva, R. Smith, Dieng, Shabazz, Cooley, Triche, Fair, Tray....
I think Porter has a safe lead for POY as of today
Comical
Buzz is right. No.
Love him, but no!
Not right now. But if Vander averages 25 points a game over the next 5 and we win out...definite possibility.
Consideration? Yes. Worthy? No.
He's been great and Marquette is tied for first in the conference. How can he not be "considered"?
My phone must've cut off the end of the article.
Now, is Vander Blue worthy of the Most Improved Player award? I think he could definitely be part of that discussion.
POY - No. But he is definitely a player for 1st Team. Much will depend on how we finish and how he plays in a strong finish. I am glad to see him make a lot of people eat crow.

Seems that if he is definitely a player on the 1st team then he is one in five that is considered as player of the year. Since the article says "Is Vander Blue worthy of Big East Player of the Year Consideration?" I would say if he is Top 5 Big East then the answer, in my mind, is yes.
Does he win it is another question which I think most people react to which is no. Personally, I think he is marginally 1st team but more likely second or third team.
From a G perspective there are:
Russ Smith
Bryce Cotton (PG)
Siva (PG)
D'Angelo Harrison
Sean Kilpatrick
Napier or Boatright
Grant
I think it would be hard to give Vander first team over many of the those.
Yes. If Marquette wins the regular conference season, he should be player of the year.
