How did we move from having the tiebreaker to the #3 seed?
My guess is because Syracuse hasn't played Georgetown the teams can't form a "mini conference" yet. The tiebreaker is probably record against next best team, which would be Louisville. We lost to 'Ville. Both Syracuse and Georgetown beat them.
Yeah MU, Cuse, and G'Town form a mini-conference to break the tie. 'Cuse hasn't played either of the other two, and G'Town & MU obviously split, so that doesn't solve it.
So, to break the tie, it's best win. Louisville is 4th, the other two beat them, MU lost. To break the tie then between G'Town & Syracuse for the top spot, G'Town beat Marquette for their best conference win (based on current standings), whereas Cuse's best win is Louisville. So G'Town gets the nod.
The top 4 are becoming a bit more clear, but those bottom 4 are even more set I think. I'm not sure I see any of those 4 escaping that first day, but Providence does have a slightly easier schedule than St. Johns, and they do match up again.
