"It's amazing this team is in first place in the Big East, considering how much it lost and how little it added."

Isn't Buzz and MU amazing college basketball experts pretty much an annual occurrence?

That is why I never get indignant about the preseason rankings like some of y'all do.  But I still can't believe that none of the "experts" have caught on yet.

Potential future C7+ league members SLU slinks in at No. 25 and Creighton gets some recognition as well. VCU at No. 22, but I personally don't think they get in the new conference.

Which makes you wonder about the general intelligence of the group.

It's one thing to say he had Crean's leftovers. It's one thing to say he lucked into Butler or Odom. It's one thing to say Crowder's form end of last season was his alone.

These are all excuses they can use to ask for more. But the questions need to stop at this point regarding Buzz.

I heard that 5 years is the "official" span of time before you can measure someone's performance... ;)

Buzz gets a tremendous amount of respect nationally.

When is the last time (if ever) that a national writer or broadcaster described him as anything but a very good coach? When folks talk about him, don't they always talk about how hard his team plays and practices, how prepared he is (to the point of being anal) and how much he cares about his team?

Pretty soon -- probably this year if there is another run to the Sweet 16 or beyond -- jealous types will start to talk about him being overrated.
