I dont follow pop culture. Why are people doing this? UL videotaped the entire team doing this after a recent game. It was strange.

If it actually originated in Harlem and has now made its way to Wisconsin, chances are it is running on fumes. One can hope, at least.

I'm particularly distasteful of this new thing. I personally hate it.

You guys need to up your internets game.

Personally, my favorite one is the Norwegian Army http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hpEnLtqUDg

Also, the problem with the KU one is that they deviate from the original idea of it... which makes it pretty weak.  If they'd chop the 'intro' part, then it would have been great.

I get it. The coach directing  Harlem Shake removes its spontaneity. Interesting point. Thanks for the insight. I didn't think through the formula

Kansas did kill it.

If there is one thing I miss from Crean's tenure it is the amount of marketing videos from the team like Kansas just did. Seems like that department got their budget slashed when Buzz took over,or Buzz doesn't want it.

Can we get an updated version of the slowclap video in the Annex?

I love when they point out how wild and crazy they were when they were students and complain that students today aren't.  Then when students do something like this, they complain because it isn't the 'version of crazy' that they grew up with.  Let the kids have fun.  If you don't like it, fine, but don't complain about it.  I'm sure your parents said that things were going to hell when you were out partying or whatever.

They took some current from the internet, and put an MU spin on it and did it live at a game.

"Back in my day, each of us drank a case beer on the walk over to the game. None of this 'taking the bus' crap. We walked through (And of course they tell you the weather was at or around zero degrees every time with a 2 foot snowstorm). Then afterwards we'd celebrate by drinking a fifth of whiskey on the way back. If you passed out in the snow, we'd left ya. It toughened you up. Made you more of a Warrior. Then ate a (insert restaurant/establishment that is now closed), which is a heck of a lot better than what you kids have today on campus. And did a naked beer slide for every point MU scored that game.

Wait, are you saying there were others that did the Harlem Shake before the student section did?!?!? I am outraged at the unoriginality of our students!!!!

But in all seriousness, I thought it was very well done.  Seemed like they were having a lot of fun doing it as well, made me miss the good 'ol days.

So if I have this right... something called the "Harlem" Shake was created/popularized by a bunch of white frat boys in a dorm room, and now it's the current craze?

Thank God this generation of kids wasn't born in the 1910's & 1920's.  Imagine having to read a 200-page scoop thread about how Crean-san should jump off Mt. Fuji for dishonoring his loyal employer.

No longer current, everyone is over it already.
It amazes me how short these fads are nowadays.  This harlem shake thing did not come on the scene till like February 1st.  It is only 28 days later and it is already played out and nobody is making films anymore.     Youtube has made what I like to call "Microfads"  It used to be that fads lasted at least a year or two.  Now they dont even make it a few weeks
