I think anyone who is willing and able to attend the upcoming open practice on Tuesday needs to show up there in full force! I know some of you have mentioned this here on this site but if you are a current MU student or within a reasonable distance of the Al then you need to get there and participate like it's college gameday because if we can display some powerful support then we may begin to sway some recruits intentions towards attending Marquette....
So bring the Al's Army and head to the Al this Tuesday and again on Midnight Madness to lure Ben-Eze, Goldbourne, Crittle, Shumpert, etc into attending marquette! :)
I know I will be there.
However, a College Gameday-esqe turnout is highly unlikely. Hopefully flyers will be posted in the dorms, because if students dont read the JS, or the boards, how are they supposed to know about it?
How? With your help! If you happen to have an old Mt. Prospect Police Car and large speakers, you could drive around town and announce it over the loud speaker. You're now on a mission from God!

That guy is certifiable. And also one of the defining characters of the MU campus. I remember the first time I saw him as a freshman. My jaw dropped and I stared in awe. Then I met Freeway during the basketball season, and I had more than enough to tell my friends from home over winter break.

I'll bet $100 there is a mass email from Crean or someone in athletics regarding the open practice.

Ready2fly, you missed a big time reference to the Blues Brothers.

Oops. Never seen the movie. Just assumed with the "Mission from God" he was talking about the nutjob driving up and down Wisconsin.
Wish I was in Milwaukee to see the practice. I expect updates next Wednesday, and I hope there's a great turnout.

Apparently the guy who drives the bumper-sticker-Bible-verse-plastered-station-wagon goes by the name Brother Rob. A friend of mine knows the guy apparently, or at least has tried to hold a sane conversation with him.
BTW, if I could parallel park like Elwood Blues, I'd be a god among men! Let's hope our lads look good out there on Tuesday! I'll cheer 'em on for y'all that can't make it!
For the record, Brother Rob does not appreciate when people hurl ketchup and mustard packets at his car. Or snowballs.

QuoteNEVER SEEN THE MOVIE!?!?!?! What is WRONG with you?
Um, this movie came out in 1980. A lot of the posters here were not even conceived then. Just like my children laughed when they were watching what they knew as "Star Wars IV", and I said I remembered when that movie was called "Star Wars"!!!!
Ok, I think I will go take some Geritol.

I don't care when you were born. There are some movies that are must sees. Blues Brothers is high on that list. (and for full disclosure, I was 4 when Blues Brothers was released)

DEAR COACH NORMAN DALE:
I DON'T LIKE YOU OR YOUR HIPPIE LIFESTYLE. I REMEMBER IN WORLD WAR I, I USED TO EAT YOUNG PUNKS LIKE YOU FOR BREAKFAST. I'LL TAKE THAT GERITOL AND SHOVE THEM UP YOUR NOSE.
I AM NOT A CRANK.

It's good that they sent this mass email but I think its better if everyone knows that 08 and 09 recruits may or will be in the house...places more emphasis on putting your MU Fanatic foot forward.

Amen!
I will be there.
Looking forward to this event. It will be great to get a pre-season look at the 07-08 team. Having Ben-Eze (other recruits?) there is a plus. Bring a friend and wear gold!
I hope a lot of people show up. I am planning on going and I know most of my friends are too
see ya there gwaki!
I'll be there as well... does anyone know if the freshmen will be playing?

the million dollar question...we will find out at 8:30 tomorrow night unless anyone has the inside scoop
I will be there as well, probably with a few others as well.
Pretty sure it won't be as good as when Grimm and JC were scraping with each other.

just walked Through schroeder for some grub and saw the start of fliers about the open practice, hopefully all the dorms have them
