Title: 'ville vs. ND
Post by: Sir Lawrence on February 09, 2013, 10:16:24 PM
Slick had the game in hand.  Now in OT.  I know I should prefer ND to win, but.  I.  Just. Hate. Notre Dame.  Too.  Much.

Grant scored 12 points in 42 seconds. Seven point lead erased. What a comeback.

A Louisville loss puts them 2 back of MU in the loss column. Gotta pull for the Irish here.

ND is not deep (going to an 8th man by mandate because three are fouled out).  Tough home team, ,but we should seriously cream them at the BC.

Man.  I have never felt worse for a guy.  I was wondering why he wasn't in the game earlier.  This is the same guy who crushed a fresh MU through his sheer energy and athleticism and Pitino refused to play him against a fatigued and undersized ND team while this third string, ridiculously slow and uncoordinated guy Sherman is continually retying the game.  Then he gets in that situation.  Feel bad for the guy.  He and Behanan are going to be a force.

Life isn't fair. UL whips around us like we're not even moving but against UND, with mostly big, slow, traditional lummox, they are out hustled and out played. Weird.

2. Siva sucked playin' against someone other than Jr.-------2 pts., 4 assists, fouled out
3. ND had some bigs to counter Deng and got shots to drop

In regulation and under 40 seconds left, Behanan missed front end and then Dieng missed two free throws.  That was difference in regulation.  So important for free throws.

Russ Smith in first three OTs last possessions must have been drunk, he was absolutely unbearable.

Hate ND, but basically their scrubs beat them and helps in the standings.

I am glad Notre Dame won the game. I think the best part of it was the announcers saying after the game was tied at the end of regulation that there was about a 1000 fans that left with a little over a minute to go in regulation that are going to be kicking themselves as they drive home. Imagine missing the end of that game, because  you gave up and wanted to beat traffic.

Agree, Sultan, and I hope Pitino is blaming himself for some of it.

I can understand him letting Russ Smith take the game in his own hands once. Or maybe even twice. But after that, I'm using some of those TOs I never called. You're the Hall of Fame coach; it wasn't working; use an effin' TO and set up a play instead of settling for a 35-footer.

I mean, fool Pitino three times, shame on Pitino!
