SHOULD BE IN--Marquette [15-5 (6-2), RPI: 16, SOS: 15] How good is Buzz Williams? After losing his two best, eldest and most important players (both of whom were Big East POY candidates last season), Williams has his team within striking distance of lock status by the first week of February. The only "bad" loss in this group came at Green Bay; the rest were a one-point Maui loss to Butler, at Florida, at Cincinnati and at Louisville. Plus, the Eagles' remaining schedule is heavy on winnable road games and helpful home dates (see Feb. 25 vs. Syracuse).

You forgot to mention they had us in the "should be in" category.
They only need 3-4 more wins, including tonight, to get to lock status. I wish I could say the same for my beloved VCU.

Never take winning for granted.
Don't let the committee decide whether you're in or out.
Control your destiny. Win the games.
Should be in is an outrage. We are tied for the lead in the BE!
I'd really like to see them beat Syracuse at home, it'd be nice to get a marquee win to round out the resume. I didn't really think it would be possible earlier this year, but if MU can hold onto a 4 or 5 seed, another Sweet 16 looks very achievable given the vast mediocrity around the country.
This time last year, Seton Hall was considered a lock. There are no guarantees. College basketball can be a funny game. Louisville losses three straight. Kansas loses tonight at TCU after losing for the first time in 18 games last week. Creighton gets walloped tonight. Florida got walloped yesterday.

This time last year, Seton Hall was 15-8 and 4-7 in conference with a good win against UCONN and lets say VCU and St. Joes too. RPI of 33 and fading. You have a weird definition of "lock."

I remember reading last year that the way Bubble Watch decided to work was to not move anyone into the "lock" category until they were 100% certain that they would never be moved out of the "lock" category. They said something about how early in the season there would be relatively few locks and that this principal would lead to some teams that were essentially locks to be filed under "should be in" until deeper in the season.
We're the 1st Big East team they wrote about as "should be in," we're fine. Give the Watch a few weeks and we'll move up.
