2007...time to break that streak...not as long as I originally thought, but still long enough
Pretty sure we won in there in '07? And then got beat by Jerry Smith in the return game to Milwaukee.
We beat Murray St. at Louisville last March ;D
Fixed
We did beat them there in 2007.
Louisville has owned us since 2005. 13 games .. 3 wins, 10 losses.
Really wish I hadn't read that. The pain of each loss comes shooting back through me individually.
At least Ewill is not on the team :)

The great collapse where MU lost a huge lead in the last 6-7 minutes happened in Louisville, I think.
With exception of the late collapse a couple years ago, I think there have been more crushing loses in Milwaukee (2003 and 2007).

I know that there were many, but I was at the game in Milw in '05 (I believe) when we were up by 13 pts with a few minutes left and didnt score again and Francisco Garcia hit the daggar to win the game. Sickening.
For a few minutes there, it looked like it was going to be a great back and forth rivalry, but it's turned in to a series where either they kill us or they win a close one. I can't believe I'm saying this because I used to love hating Louisville so much, but I'm glad they're leaving the conference and we won't be playing them. It's not fun hating them anymore, just painful.

Well, Louisville has heavily out-recruited Marquette over the past 6-7 years, and they have a Hall of Fame coach, so its not a surprise they usually beat MU.
Hence it no longer being fun. However, I would say that MU has consistently out-performed their talent level and been one of the best teams in the Big East over the last 6-7 years regardless of recruiting - except against Louisville.
Can't think of the last recruit we've gone head to head with UL who's actually matriculated at MU.
We lost Scooter McCray (and therefore his brother Rodney, too.) Story is Majerus showed up at the door and Mama McCray told Rick, a frequent visitor, to go on up to Scooter's room. Rick barges in to find Scooter playing his, uh, piccolo. McCray was all but ours but he announced shortly afterward he was going to Louisville. Earl Tatum is from the same hood and knows the McCray's and was dumbfounded at the last minute switch. Majerus fessed up and told The Black Jerry West what had happened. I guess it was a running joke between the two for years.

I'd say they've badly out-recruited MU for most of the past 30+ years!
