Title: USF Game - 7'3" 334 lb center
Post by: madtownwarrior on January 31, 2013, 10:10:55 AM
Forgot to post, my god, he was huge, made Gardner look tiny, wanted to get a photo of the 2 side-by-side

Jordan Omogbehin listed as 7-3  334 redhsirt freshman.

Only played a few minutes, did not look to move too smoothly, but looked like he could be thrown the ball inside at anytime.

His USF bio listed Marquette as school showing interest.   Was MU interested?

Will he be a force for next 3 years or limited impact?

Well, yours is the first post to use the word "Omogbehin" in it...FWIW.

Haha. Great topic. My buddies and I were talking about him non-stop during his very limited minutes.  DG looked like his son, and creating that mirage isn't an easy task.
You could tell why his minutes were limited though. He went up and down the floor and handful of times and came out looking like he ran the Boston marathon.

On Buzz's radio show, Buzz said that he told DG that DG looked like a smurf next to him.

I really wanted to see what would happen, if Gardner got the ball down low against him, but the team never got him the ball.

Actually the second....he was in the Coolest Names poll, and I voted for him.  After all, his name practically has the words "Oh my God" in it!

I read a little more on him - ACL tear as a junior, another ACL surgery at USF last year and a pituitary gland growth removed (will allow him to control his weight better it said).   yikes - got to be tough on the body being that big...

if health and mobile, he would be unstoppable...

Had his right foot partly amputated too. The pituitary gland is what is responsible for growth too, which is why all the "giants" of this world, ones that I would say are above 7 foot, probably have some sort of infection or problem with it that makes them grow uncontrollably.

The world's tallest man ever, one Robert Wadlow, who peaked at 8 feet, 11 inches.
By age 8, I repeat, age 8, he was 6 foot, 2 inches tall.

I would only imagine what Jordan Omogbehin could do in the next few years..

With a partially amputated foot, weight issues, a conditioning problem, and a poor skill set?

Whoops. Someone posted the video of someone dunking on Kenny George and he's the one that got the amputation. Got all my tall people mixed up.  ;D
