Title: Louisville Game
Post by: MauraDay on January 26, 2013, 05:04:34 PM
I know we need to get past USF first on Monday, but hard not to think about the Louisville game right now in light of their recent 3 game skid after being ranked #1 in the country.

They have Pitt on Monday, but then should, in theory, be pretty fired up to right the ship at home by the time we arrive on Sunday. I'm hoping to hand them another loss and that they continue to slide, but that seems unlikely. Thoughts?

**modified -- didn't see the Monday Pitt game on the schedule

I have a feeling we are in deep doo-doo.  Pitino will have them whipped into a frenzy.  If we can keep it close in the first part of the game we will make it interesting.

Perhaps we should smuggle in some sort of a flying creature....

Super Bowl Sunday.   Only game on.   Red out at home.  Week to prepare.

Lets take care of USF.  And then you never know.  They still may be reeling from 3 in a row.

Actually, it is a white out as the red out is for senior day at 'Ville...

A quick look around the Big East will show the dangers of looking ahead...  let's take care of business on Monday!   ::)

I forgot we all play for the team and me looking ahead will cause our team to lose Monday against USF.

Enough with the sarcasm, you're right, if I look ahead to Louisville I won't bring my A game to cheer on Marquette Monday!  Gotta get my head outta my a$$! ::)

Real happy tonight. Just gotta love the fans that get on other fans for looking ahead, as if it'll effect the play of the team.

More worried about giving Pitino six days to prepare for us than them coming in losing three of four or four in a row.  Key to the game obviously will be protecting the ball.  They still pressure and try to force turnovers - in the BET game last year we had 26, Cadougan 8 and Blue 6.

I'm sending Georgi Dieng a Vera Bradley backpack.  Hopefully, he wears it in front of members of the media.  If he doesn't sit due to a pending NCAA investigation, he'll definitely lose all confidence from the ribbing his teammates will give him.

Agreed.  Several of those passes from yesterday which made it through passing around the perimeter will be picked and taken the other way for two and/or impending foul trouble on the breakaways.
