Cincinnati's starting PG may not play on Saturday after spraining his knee at DePaul, Tuesday. He and perimeter guys, JaQuon Parker and Sean Kilpatrick provide the bulk of Cincy's offense. Earlier in the year it was said that the key to beating Cincinnati was to disrupt their transition game and limt either Kilpatrick or Wright's scoring. Here's the link to CBS Sports' story.

"Coach Mick Cronin said on Thursday that Wright's status for the game is uncertain.
"Obviously there's minor adjustments we'll make that are some pluses, some minuses," Cronin said. "We probably become a bigger, more physical team when he's out of the lineup
Humm, maybe some more time with Vander playing PG for Marquette?
More Information from a Cincy message board.
"Cashmere Wright was not expected to practice Thursday but Mick Cronin said that doesn't mean he won't play Saturday against Marquette.
Cronin said there are a lot of days when Wright doesn't practice as a precaution so that he doesn't put too much strain on his surgically repaired left knee. Before Tuesday's DePaul game, Wright was held out of practice because he had a stiff lower back.
Because Wright sprained his right knee in the second half Tuesday, Cronin said he wouldn't risk having him practice Thursday no matter what.
The UC coach gave no hints as to whether Wright would play Saturday, continuing to list him simply as "day-to-day." If Wright can't play, Cronin could shift JaQuon Parker from the No. 3 spot to point guard or he could start Ge'Lawn Guyn at the point. Both have spent time at the position this season."
Does this mean we can't include him in the racist "Coolest Name" poll?
I hate the way Cronin looks

I like Cronin too.
If he has a knee sprain, its gonna affect his minutes. that is good for marquette.

Suck hole is underused.
Is Cronin a little guy? Every time I've seen him in person, it's been from the upper deck while drunk. Maybe I don't like him b/c he seems to have little man syndrome. I feel like he's been trying to get the BE to take him seriously has a head coach since the start of his tenure. Btw, I use the word "tenure" way too much now. Thanks, buzz.
Maybe it's his monogrammed French cuffs. Either way, me no likey

Too bad it was just his suckhole flapping around... obviously, he didn't have the cohones to back his words up.

In response to overwhelming demand, I added Cashmere to the coolest name poll. I am assuming his mom was, like me, a huge Led Zeppelin fan.
But for the record, a significant number of you who insisted it was the coolest name can't even spell it correctly.
anyone else notice that we've played a lot of teams with injured key players? Wisconsin was missing gasser and bruesewitz, pitt didnt have woodall, Hall had 3 players out, and now Cincy might be without Wright? seems like we're playing all these guys at the right time. not complaining!
Though we caught G'Town pre-Whittington suspension.

And the evening dew helped with the Carrier classic.... :-\
Cronin sounds a little like Buzz in describing a knee injury as 'day to day'. Of course in college ball one doesn't put out a formal injury report. I'd personally be surprised to see him play and am trusting that Buzz is preparing the team for either possibility. Scratches that are total surprises (like someone getting the flu) often can't be properly taken advantage of.

I've never liked Cronin back to his flip flopping days between Huggy and Pitino but this put it over the edge for me.
His words were wonderful. Impassioned. Exemplary. Brave. And then, just like his job saving non-conference scheduling, the words simply became bluster after the lenient punishment doled out. Not a paragon of leadership.

It wouldn't surprise me if Wright came back for the game and torched us for 25 in limited play. Sometimes we just have dumb luck!

We've overall had good luck this year, so I get the sense we're due for some bad luck. I expect to lose to Cincy, unless we up our game and prove that we do play to the level of our competition. Wright being out will help, though.

According to Pomeroy we are one of the ToP 20 luckiest teams to date. Hope he is wrong and/or the luck doesn't run out!

too good- never realized it but spot on!
As an aside- I went to St. X in Cincy and we used to play against Mick. He was the starting point guard there for Lasalle.
And yes, everyone thought he was kinda a douche then too...

Don't forget that Pitt had Woodall for that game but got hurt when he bumped heads with the harder-headed DWill. Also don't forget that we didn't have Junior for about the same amount of time they didn't have Woodall.
Cashmere may be a form of the Polish name Kazimierz. It may mean "someone who destroys opponent's prestige/glory during battle"

I think its fair to say Woodall is more important to Pitt than Cadougan was for MU. Not trying to diss Cadougan--just making the observation that Pitt has risen and fallen with the health of Woodall for two years now.
