Most of us can agree we're playing better basketball of late. However, for real proof of that I look for Marquette to put away Seton Hall in the first half or early second half of this game. We should not be playing a close game against Seton Hall at home. Even if Cadougan is out this game should be an easy W if we play hard and smart.
That's not how MU rolls. There isn't any fun in that.
Meh. That is what college basketball is all about. A blow out sure wouldn't suck, but I am not really expecting one. Seton Hall will hang around until the end.
Marquette's depth will wear down a thin Pirates squad tonight. It could be a game for a while if MU players don't take it seriously.
SHU is going to shoot 3s until they lose.
Gotta draw contact and make the bunnies.
Right now, the refs are letting them play and MU is overplaying in defense, letting the shooter spot up.
Ken Pomeroy prediction: 72-62 MU win
So, SHU did exactly as expected, MU offense underachieved a bit.
I think someone (Want to say Paint Touches or Anonymous Eagle) posted something like excluding MU, the home team was 9-18 in Big East play coming into tonight. There's been some pretty crazy results already this year in conference. I'll take a win any way we can get it and move on with a smile.
I love the way we are trending this year, and I think we'll keep improving. Our offense isn't always pretty, but I feel we are starting to get better looks against the zones. If Jamil's mid-range jumper starts falling and I'm still holding out hope Lockett gets a little more comfortable. He looked awfully gun-shy today.
It seems like every game we play against Seton Hall is an ugly, grind it out game that ends up being a 5-11 point win. The one exception is the game in Newark prior to the first sweet 16.
It was a bit uglier than I would have liked but about what I expected.
