How much are people willing to overpay for breathtakingly mediocre college football? 16.9 million dollars.
Nevermind the new media deal....as the years go by, they will experience more football sell-outs and probably higher ticket prices.
I guess I forgot to mention bball....because, generally speaking, a fball-centric school like WVU doesnt care that much (even though Huggins has made it better).
Id say they are doing just fine right now.

The first. They stunk before entering conference play.

Though I certainly understand WVU's motivations, I don't think many of their fans take comfort in their mediocrity via television revenues.
Jethro from Clarksburg isn't sitting in his doublewide saying "Well, sure, them boys are goin' to the Pinstripe Bowl and NIT, but at least dose administrators is making money."

Since WVU coundn't beat anyone in the preseason either it's pretty obviously the former.
