Heading into this year, everyone knew the league lost a lot of talent (hands down more talent lost in this conference then any others). The entire UCONN team is gone, WVU loses Pittsnoggle and Gansey, 'Nova's 3 headed monster, Novak, Quinn, Douby, Maxiel, etc.
With that being said, the BE has gotten off to a horrible start. St. John's has been routed, G'town with a bad loss at home, Nova loses to Xavier (not necessarily an upset), DePaul has looked absolutely pathetic (while being the preseason surprise pick of the league), ND has struggled, and even MU has had its problems early on.
The Big East is currently #7 in the Conference RPI standings (behind C-USA!!!). MU needs to get two big wins, to not only boost our stock, but help our conference also.
Let's go boys!!!
ya know that's a good point.. makes me rethink my cheering strategy.. I've kinda been taking pleasure in hearing that other big east teams are doing poorly as it allows MU to shine through it BUT I am now thinking that we need the BE to be STRONG and competetive.. don't want to get to conference season and play a bunch of cupcakes record-wise.. that'll do nothing for our RPI, our conference's impression on the NCAA tournament selection committee, nor our broadcasters who choose where to put next year's games....
Come on GT! Come on DePaul! Come on USF!!! Go take care of business!!
Hrm.. might need yet another shower now :-\
Would be nice to see DePaul get a big win against Kentucky tonight. Love Wilson Chandler. Man, what a team we would have with his youth and inside presence.
