Man this continues to just highlight how terrible DePaul is and has been.  Hoping they get this stadium thing figured out and find a real coach that can recruit the Chicago area.  It'd be great to have a true rivalry with them a la the Badgers.

They are at the level of their peer institutions, being the Harvard of the Midwest.

So if we were already in the new conference, based on latest reports...

13 - Creighton
18 - Butler
31 - Marquette
32 - VCU
38 - Georgetown
49 - Seton Hall

64 - St. John's
82 - Dayton
83 - Villanova
117 - Xavier
136 - Providence
176 - DePaul

Six top-50 teams is solid. Need Xavier to get back to being Xavier, and need the bottom to pick up the slack a bit, but if we can consistently have 5-6 top-50 teams, 10 top-100, and no one out of the top-150, that'd be a fantastic conference. Maybe not as top-heavy early on as some of the BCS leagues, but arguably a better overall conference than the Pac-12, Big 12, or SEC (SEC has 4 sub-200 teams).

I would add one thing to the list above... we would need at least one top team to be a top 10 team each season.  This season would look good but there would not be one top 3 seed NCAA team.  To be legit, need at least one Top 3 seed each season.

That same group of teams using end-of-year projections according to RPI Forecast:

11. VCU
15. Creighton
36. Butler

51. Marquette
70. Georgetown
71. Dayton
72. Seton Hall
78. Villanova
87. St. Johns
105. Providence
115. Xavier
128. DePaul

For this to change, the C7 will have to rack up some unexpected wins against Syracuse, UL, Pitt, Notre Dame, etc.
