I am sure someone is going to go deep into the arcane to disprove this, but according to the eyeball test, MU's defense the last two games has been the best of the year. Fewer breakdowns. Better help. The man-rotations are spot on. All of these athletic switchables who can't shoot ARE doing a great job of staying with their man. The zone against UConn was a great change of pace. And our rebounding has been equally impressive.
Agreed, and it's our rebounding that I love. If we can just get consistent on offense we will be a lot tougher to beat with our rebounding right now.
Yeah, our defense and rebounding has been good...just wish our shooting would show up at one of these games. (And limit the stupid turnovers)
Only 10 turnovers today.
Wow...it felt like twice that many.
I guess everything feels twice is bad when the score is that low.
Announcers even mentioned we gave a textbook box out clinic on one of those possesions late in the game. This team definitely seems better of getting a body and on body and blocking out. Think it was Derrick Wilson and Lockett who had the good blockouts which allowed Gardner to grab the rebound...
Must have only practiced defense since Buzz got back. I like the progress we're making, typical Buzz so far.
Agreed about the defense and rebounding. I just think this team is going to struggle to score all year. There is not a single consistent perimeter scorer on this team.
I agree on the D,been really good and consistent the last 2 games. We played pretty good in a slow game.Great Rebounding.
I can't remember who said this, but some wise Scooper pointed out awhile ago that Lockett played in a slow system at ASU. Perhaps this type of slow game is how his strengths can be showcased.
The defensive rebounding was outstanding. Great position and then attacking the ball, often contested hard by Gtown.
Grind. Grind. Grind. Grind. Love it. BEast/C7, Baby!!!
We're playing better defensively, but G'town seems prone to some offensive ineptitude this season. Georgetown has had 3 or 4 games it seems this year where you wonder if they are going to break 50 points. If I remember they didn't even hit 40 against Tennessee earlier this year (yet they still won).
MU has NOT won either the eFG% or Turnover % battle the first two BE games...but they have won the FT Rate and Rebounding rates (both offensive and defensive). Grind Together Shine Together.
looking better for sure. I would still like to see us up the pressure and create more turnovers. This team will have ups and downs and I think it all starts with the D.

Wow...it felt like twice that many.
Well, part of that came from us scoring on the first 3 drives of the second half and then turning it over the next 3. That was brutal. Thankfully, it stopped.
