Can we switch Loyola for DePaul in the C7?
Yes we lost to UWGB, but we are an establish team. DePaul just flounders and their no reason for it.
Another--the word is there. Anytime you think that it should be their, type there instead. You seem to have a real hard time with this one.
they're is no reason to jump all over him about that
Would you rather have a school of 14,000 that was good in the 60s and has a national title but no success since a random sweet 16 in the mid 80s or a school of 26,000 that has 2 Final Fours and success in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 2 good years in the past 12 years with signs of rebuilding? I'd keep Depaul personally
also 22 tournament appearances > 5 tournament appearances

Sometimes I read what some posters write and I ask myself, "What's there problem?"

As bad as DePaul is, this loss is an aberration. DePaul's KenPom ranking is 114 Loyola's is 191. Loyola plays in an on campus arena that since being renovated to replace its bleacher seating has less than 4,500 seats.
DePaul's struggles to realize its potential is frustrating. I have a feeling that until the alumni can shake the administration's faith in Jean Lenti-Ponsetto, the situation isn't going to get much better. But DePaul's ceiling is undeniably higher than Loyola's.

I should have put this in teal. Obviously I don't want to trade DePaul for Loyola. But THERE is no reason for them to be this bad for this long. Purnell is getting Buzz type money. How long until the DePaul faithful start asking for more than 2 or 3 BE wins a year?
But that school with the enrollment of 26,000 can't gather together 4,500 fans of its own to fill Loyola's Gentile Center on most nights. DuhPaul's best crowds are the result of their conference mates Chicago area alumni turnout.
Jean Lenti-Ponsetto has been AD since 7-1-2002. Now in her 11th year, I would describe her tenure as 1 year of job experience that has simply been repeated 9 times. Ding! Ding! Ding! Jeannie it clearly isn't working.
What's the plan? The entire conference is waiting!
Better yet, let another school try to create excitement in Chicago. DuhPaul fall on the sword and exit to the Horizon and let's move on to Loyola or UIC.
Holy sh*t!!!!! An upset!!???!! In college baketball??!!?????
Has something like this ever happened before????

Firstly Depaul averages 7,740 fans a game that's enough to fill out loyola's place. Secondly I agree about the conference mates and that its mostly area alumni because well what students are gonna go out to rosemont to watch a shitty team. Next, Loyola and uic havent shown the commitment to basketball that DePaul has, so it wouldn't make sense for them to move over to another school. Finally DePaul is bigger so what's our incentive to throw them away for a smaller school. Because if DePaul does get back to prominence they're big enough to make a crap ton of money for the conference.

There should be a comma after "Thanks". ;D
Period should go inside the quotes: "Thanks."

Herein is the issue - "DePaul faithful" is an oxymoron.

I think they were the first 2 seed to lose a first round game in NCAA tournament.

And the first 1 seed to lose in the first round, to St. Joes in the late 1970s.
The tourney was 48 back then, no 1seed has lost since it went to 64 in the mid-1980s.
Obviously no interest in Loyola playing new conference but would rather play them in NC schedule than UWGB or whoever we played yesterday.

I've been arguing for this for two decades now. Loyola makes so much sense for us to play in a non-conference game. That MU game in Rogers Park would be the biggest game In a long time there. I think a 3-1 or 4-1 agreement would be fair.
I asked Cords and Cottingham about Loyola and got circular answers. Don't know if positions have changed.

Definitelly agree. Plus the athletics department could make it like the Depaul game by busing students down there and stuff.
