With both the block at the 1:10 mark and the break away dunk at 1;20 or so, you could smell the fear:  "OMG, here he comes!"

What'd he score? About 200 points?

I know that recruiting videos have come a long way in the past few years but I can't remember a recruiting class of ours dunking this hard on people. Watch any video of Johnson, Burton, or Wilson and it's not just fast break or practice dunks, there are in traffic, in game, contested dunks. Wow. Really excited for their time at MU once we get them on our strength and conditioning program.

MU found a wing that can shoot the ball.  Next year, Wilson, Blue, Johnson, Wilson and Gardner!
With Mckay, Burton, Taylor, Dwill, Mayo - that is a solid 10

Freguson, Otule (gone), Thomas and Dawson

Still wish we had one more legit center on that team, but it looks awesome on paper.

The more I hear about and see from Johnson, the more I'm convinced this guy might be the best player we have coming in. Hate putting too much stock in incoming freshmen, but he looks like an absolute stud.

Otule (gone)

Why?

Why?

Graduated, pick another name that is leaving,  13 scholarships available, have 14 right now for next year.

Ok, Because Otule does have one more year of eligibility.  So the 5 is Gardner and Otule this year and next.

Yeah, that is if he chooses to stay.  I know going to college for 6 years sounds awesome, but the later you start your real life job, the older you will be when you retire (in general).  And I don't think Chris is going for his masters degree... So the benefit of him staying around for a 6th year is what?  To hope to become a coach?

I just don't see him doing that unless coaching is in his future.

The benefit of him staying is that he gets to play another season of college basketball.  And yes, he is going for his master's degree.  He can get that in three semesters with a summer in there somewhere.

If he was my son I would tell him to put off "the real world" as long as possible.  Whatever job he gets out of school will not be nearing as interesting as playing High D1 basketball.

Why the obsession with doing this now? The roster has always sorted out by the end of summer. No need to rush things.

tell me an off season where we didn't have players leaving for one reason or another.  trying to figure that out now is a waste of time.

i do hope CO is around next year...we desperately need depth at the 5 spot.  buzz doesn't play DG and CO at the same time now, but he has talked about the possibility, and with the depth mu would have next year there would certainly be an opportunity for mu to play big with j. wilson at the 3.  it could pose problems for certain teams.

When you look at next year's roster, it makes you wonder, how and the heck can you play everybody.  We'll need two or three basketballs.

One thing to keep in mind:

College basketball is a lot harder mentally and physically than the "real world" for a 24 year old single dude without kids.

I have no idea if Chris is coming back or not, but the life of a college basketball player is FAR more demanding than the average college student.

Let Chris stay? He'll be a 7 foot center in his 6th year, what freshman would be able to walk in and outperform him? Outside of the top 2-3 centers in the high school class. I think Marquette should beg him to stay, it's obvious he isn't 100% this year. If he can stay healthy I think he can be a solid contributor.

How about we let Chris decide.
