Title: 2nd Half Starting Line-up
Post by: BCHoopster on December 19, 2012, 11:04:25 PM
I think he started DWill, Cadougan, Blue, Otule and Anderson.  Seriously, that is a bad team against a zone.  Is Anderson a D1 player?  What does he do on the offensive end?
Otule, I will say with a good O team, he is fine, with this team, no deal.  Not sure if either scored tonight.  Not sure they will win a game on the road.  Vanders first shot, told
you something.  Air ball, and lastly how many times is Lockett going to drive a zone down the middle?  One more thought, has anybody worked with Junior on his left hand lay-ups?
Coaching, individual coaching, what were they working on for him to improve?  Bring in the new troops!

No offense, but I've noticed that you tend to overreact a lot...

Is Anderson a D1 player?
1) Anderson is averaging about 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal per game. In 15 minutes per game, he turns the ball over about 1 time. He's a very solid role player.

Otule
He's one of the best centers in the Big East. You can't argue with the efficiency of his offensive numbers, and he's one of the best defenders on the team.

Not sure if they will win a game on the road
We're playing at USF, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Villanova, St. John's, among others this year. We'll probably win all 5 of those games.

Lockett, Cadougan, Recruits
Expectations for Lockett were probably too high coming into the season, but he's a solid defender and a good rebounder. Tough to put the blame completely on him, although he might contribute to some of the issues.

Junior's left hand has always been a bit of an issue, but our offense is better with him than it is with Derrick Wilson, and definitely better than it will be when Duane Wilson is a freshman next year.

Buzz rarely plays freshman for significant lengths of time, so I wouldn't look for answers to come from next year's group of recruits (except McKay, possibly). I still think we'll be a tournament team this year, but even if we're not, our success next year will depend on our current players more than our recruits.

Otule one of the best centers in the Big East, are you dreaming?   Road Victories, doubt it, I will give them 1 or 2 if Mayo comes back, Anderson, will see.  Only time will tell.

This is just nuts.

I know this was a running theme last year prior to injury but Otule is barely recognized within the conference as being near the top much less even passably noticed outside the conference.

Add to it he's clearly hobbled but people want to make him into the reincarnation of No Knees Padgett.

The 2nd half starting lineup was actually J. Wilson, Blue, Anderson, Cadougan and Derrick Wilson. Which was the same team that finished the first half.

Can't agree more.  Otule has been hampered by injuries his during his tenure and I hope he moves on after this year to protect his body.

During last five games:

-Averaged 16 minutes playing time
-12 total points, 9 of which came in blowout of UMBC
-5 for 11 fgs, in which he went 4 for 7 against UMBC
-2 for 10 in freethrows
-9 rebounds

Take away the UMBC games and he has 3 points on 1 for 4 shooting in last four games. Not good.

While I would love this to happen. I find that prediction very very optimistic.
