Title: freshmen minutes
Post by: mhendrick on December 19, 2012, 10:03:01 PM
Do you think future recruits are watching the lack of playing time for the freshmen? On a night
when the whole team is laying an egg why not play the freshmen and see if it lights a spark. I believe
they played a combined 1 minute tonight. I know people will say they have not earned playing time yet,
but what exactly has Lockett done to earn P.T.?

In looking at the box score, Lockett was the leading rebounder tonight.  I'm sure his defense was pretty good too.

he was also 2nd to Blue in putting dents in the rim. And from what I have seen he always
seems a step slow on the defense.

I actually watched the game and Lockett's D was adequate at best. He certainly isn't a shutdown corner some make him out to be.

It is not always about the defense they play on their man it is probably more about the help side defense they play

The game was close all the way. I not sure why you would play freshmen in a game like that. However, Ferguson would have had the quickness to stay with GB's guards.
