Title: Should A-10 Schools Leave Wednesday?
Post by: TallTitan34 on December 18, 2012, 11:50:09 PM
I believe the A-10 schools are all meeting Thursday.  I assume the unwanted schools have the power to vote to raise the exit fee up from the current $1 million. That being said, I'd you are a school planning to leave wouldn't it be smart to get out Wednesday before they can raise the exit fee?

I saw a poster on the Xavier board state that they had sources that have said that X and Butler are expected to announce tomorrow.  Take that for what it is worth, but makes sense with impending meeting on Thursday.

But where do you negotiate from. 1M or a higher number?  And how many months notice. Big difference. And not everyone thing is negotiable if one party is strong with a strong case. Then it goes to trial.

Probably not even 1% of all cases, but that's beside the point.

Butler and Xavier, if they want in, should announce sooner rather than later to help shore up the media rights negotiations, taking their programs from the realm of speculation to something more concrete.
