They are worried about Xavier, Dayton, SLU and possibly Duquesne leaving.
If I'm the Xavier president I come down with the flu that day........ ;D
All for show.
If only the Big East had thought of this 18 months ago we could gave avoided all this. ::)

I suggest the A-10 immediately extend invites to Maine, North Dakota State, Drexel, and IUPUI. That should appease all members and stabilize the league for the future.

Why are they having this meeting? I thought the C7 were joining the A10?

How did they get a table that large at Red Robin?
Yum.
When do we start extending invitations?

Sub Butler for Duquesne and you'd be right. I'm not even sure the A-10 wants Duquesne.
That being said, I think any one of those programs would jump at the chance to play Georgetown, Villanova and Marquette instead of St. Bonaventure, LaSalle and Rhode Island.

Probably have already started talks.

Yep. I'd venture to guess the C7 schools already have a pretty good idea of who's with them and who's not. But they've got plenty of time to work out the details, so there's no sense in rushing it.
Want to put some pressure on Xavier, Butler, VCU and St. Louis to decide what to do? Grab Creighton right away. Then publicly talk logistics of how Gonzaga and BYU/San Diego State joining could work.

The latest ploy is to have the flu, fall and then get a concussion...that prevents you from attending important meetings.

Why would they need to exert pressure? Those schools are begging to join the Catholic 7.
Why would they stay in the A10?

Funny
I notice they haven't released a press release signed by all schools saying they are committed to the league. I bet that was asked.

BYU and San Diego State are football schools. Ain't gonna happen.
I' take BYU if they want to fancy themselves the western Notre Dame, the same way I'd take Notre Dame if they wanted to join. Football's OK if you consider yourself above some lowly conference for it, and have demonstrated viable independence for years.
