Anybody know what's up with him these days? The Rockets cut him right after getting him in the Harden trade and I have not heard a word about him since. Doesn't appear to be playing in D-League or Europe, but maybe I'm wrong.
Lazar is a classic example of why it's better to be taken with the last pick of the first round than in the second round. For every Matthews or Crowder, there are lots of Haywards -- great college players who aren't quite good enough to stick in the NBA. But because he was taken in the first round, he got three years worth of contracts worth a total of $3.3 million.
Even if half of that went to agents and taxes and such, here's hoping he's been able to bank more than a million bucks as he moves on to his next phase of life.
Any update on Lazar? I just went through the D League teams and did a quick google search but there's no sign of him.
Its like he vanished, like a spirit.
Someone said he was talkin' to Nelson Mandela.
I can't find any news about him, but I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85TPPzFDmv0
Apparently, we have been pronouncing his name incorrectly all along.
I spoke with him during the SDSU game and he said he is in New Orleans. He mentioned he had some health issues " but was all better now" I chose not to press him further. He didn't mention anything more. 4ever, he was with someone who, if you had seen her, You would have wanted to "touch the heine" so he is doing O.K. in my book
