sorry I am kind of late to the big news. Is it still undecided what the seven schools are gonna do now?
Generally, they're going to band together and add a few more schools to create a new conference. Exactly what the make-up will be is unknown. But they're going to set their own course. As it should be.
I just thought of this....
Imagine ticket sales for these games.
MU v GT
GT v Nova
X v Butler
Memphis v X
VCU v Butler
Zaga v MU
the list could go on and on, I just got REALLY excited thinking about this lineup.. It could be a VERY special conference. Let's pray it all happens.

Except for Memphis' pesky minor league football team.
couldnt memphis get rid of football or go independent in football so they could play bball in this conference? Would be a tremendous asset.

In this climate going independent in football is the same thing as getting rid of football. Even ND had to cozy up to a conference to make sure that they could schedule enough games.

Not true. ND won't have any problems scheduling games for the foreseeable future. They joined the ACC with one primary goal -- ensuring a home for their O-sports. If given a choice, they wouldn't play five ACC games/yr., but that's the deal they got.
