Remember when Paul Tagliabue was going to be the savior of the Big East?
Whoops.
Vancouver Grizzlies?

Or how about the Atlanta Thrashers and Phoenix Coyotes?
Remember when Paul Tagliabue was going to be the savior of Roger Goodell?
Whoops.
I think all those guys had an impossible job. When everyone is looking out for themselves, tough to keep 18 institutions on the same page while adding others.
My question is going to be if Mike Aresco is still the commissioner of the new Big East if this all happens today. I'm lying low, haven't sent him a note in weeks because I figure he is absolutely up to his eyeballs in stress right now. I would love to have him negotiate our television contract.
He saved Jonathan Vilma.
I remember the day MU went to the Great Midwest - was it really only 6 teams?

A fantastic conference. Played a true round robin yet the Conf was so small we could still kill it in Non Conf. In 94 we played this Non Conf Sked:
Wash St
Illinois
Ohio State
UWGB
UWM
UW
San Francisco
Arizona
West Va
Va Tech
ND
Plus over half the conf made the NCAAs.
Manifest destiny!
