"Did great on my finals, one more to go which is an easy one. so it's looking like the 17th of the month i will be back yezzir, Might get and early Christmas Gift. Thank everyone for their support."
GREAT NEWS!
Wonderful! Good to hear.
Even updated his fb picture with a picture of him, Van, and Dewgie.
Even if some don't see the importance of Todd to this team (which i cannot see how) You gotta give this kid credit for fighting.
Proud of Mr. Mayo.
Great job Todd, but don't be overlooking that cupcake final.
We should all chip in to get Todd an early Christmas gift... but then we'd have to vacate our Final Four appearance this year.
Way to go, Todd!

My Christmas gift to him is that I will not complain about any mistakes he makes on court through January 31st.
Welcome back Todd...you were missed.
proud of him for continuing to work . . . obviously it's immediately helpful to the bball team, but it's a life long skill to never give up.

Who said this, ever? To my knowledge, no one did.
Our team improves dramatically by Todd being back, just like the CS article laid out a while back--he's immediately the 4th ranked player on the team.

Absolutely.
Congrats to Todd on turning things around.
As I said a few weeks back...

Gonna be a little optimistic here--If this works out and Mayo returns, this has the makings of another great Marquette/Buzz story: Taking a "lost" player and using some tough love to get him to buy back into the program after the assistant coaches he was connected to all left. Then when more adversity rises up--which could very well be the straw that broke the camel's back--turn it into a great opportunity to focus, buckle down, and learn the value of working hard for something that matters.
Forget basketball--I hope that this is the narrative we are talking about in another year or two.
Congrats Todd! Way to stick with it!

To be fair, I'm not as bullish as some.
I think he's a borderline starter with some decent game.
I think 8pts and 20 min. is reasonable. More than that is gravy (to me).
Vander, Todd, Lockett and Jake is a nice mix for 2 guard spots.
Vander 30min.
Lockett 25min.
Todd 20min.
Jake 5-10min.
With all of this said, in the post-FL world, several posters seemed to be crying out for Mayo. I think he helps, but it's going to take every player to improve for MU to crack the top 25.
Great news! Props to Todd for grinding and not taking the easy way out.
Best part is it seems Todd is now taking school seriously and proud of his classroom achievements. He should be as in the long run they are as important to him as his achievements on the court.
Goo to get your priorities straight.

You might be right, but Mayo does fit a need on the team right now. Outside shooting...
Great job, Todd!!! Bring your UW game style of play with you and everything will be good!!
He is better pure scorer in the 1/2 court then everyone on the team other then DG. It also brings more quickness and D on the peremiter which is not really Jr and JT strength, and it takes pressure off of Vander, Wilson, JR and Lockett to force shots in the 1/2 court late in the shot clock. Even when he misses his shots late in the clock I generally think he gets pretty good looks and create space.
So I have a bet with a buddy who says that Todd won't play a combined 10 minutes in the first 3 games because Buzz will have him on a short leash, I say he will be in the rotation right away and will see playing time. What's your thoughts on this?
I have no idea how much the long spell away from the team will hurt him, but this is terrific for Todd personally and the Warriors collectively. I'll grant he's streaky (who isn't so far on this team? Vander, maybe?) but when he's "on" he's the best offensive player on a team that struggles to score. Awesome news!
It's always nice to see a fighter get back up after he's been knocked down. This speaks volumes about Mayo's character.
Sweet!

More than just a shooter - he a scorer on a team that really needs one.

That's actually the part I'm not sold on.
We all talk about it like he's Novak. He's more like Jerel as a junior.
He's a career 33% 3pt shooter and shot 25% in conf. play.
I hope he's improved, and can fill the shooter's role.

I think Todd will be in Buzz's "doghouse" for a few games at least.

Exactly. A pure scorer. Work him into rotation. IMO significant upgrade from Lockett -- not even close. I also think he doesn't get credit for his D, which was just as solid as Vander's last year. Finally, some good news!

A confident scorer at that. Jamil is a scorer, but doesn't have his sea legs under him to feel like he can take over. Adding Mayo to Blue and whoever the player du jour that steps up in addition can do nothing but help our offense.
Oh yeah, and he plays a lot better D than Jake Thomas, which goes a long way too (not a shot at Jake... more of a compliment to how much I enjoyed watching Mayo play on D).
Good for Todd. I was just about to start a thread asking if anyone had heard any updates on his situation.
We could use another scorer and someone to improve the talent around the spot that Lockett is occupying. (I have not been impressed with him so far this season)
good for Todd, this team will be improved (not that we were bad anyway) with him back.

Mayo can't hurt that offense, but I agree, Guns. He didn't just have a little slump last season, he completely fell apart. He's a year older now and hopefully a year wiser. I'm hoping for the best but I am not expecting the next O.J. Mayo.

Here's hoping it's not a "trap final". ::)
Great news. Congratulations Todd! We need your quickness, defense and shooting!
Todd will take Jake Thomas minutes and possibly in the near future minutes from #22, I see 20-25 minutes a game then. I wonder if he stayed in shape and was able to use the
Al Center or did he go over to Helfaer Center to practice?
IWB says its not a slam dunk on his board.
Welcome back Mr. Mayo!!!! GO WARRIORS!!!!
