I always feel proud to be from MU but this was all legitimized during the national anthem where the 6 year old boy sang the song with his 4,000 backup singers. Had chills to see our students carry that boy through the song.
Awesome job/
and the players mob him after he finished......very cool
Anyone have a video/link to this?

I laughed when the Wisconsin players tried to get in on it, following Marquette's lead.

Completely agree. The kid was fearless but needed a little boost. The student section was fantastic, getting louder as the song went on.
The kid had a lot of guts to be out there. I have 7 grandchildern ages 2 to 6 and I cannot imagine any of them doing this at age 6.
Todd Smith's kid, no?
Would anyone happen to have video of this?
I didn't understand why the students were singing. Not saying it was good, bad or otherwise, it just didn't make sense. The kid did an outstanding job!
My wife actually teared up when the MU players mobbed him. Must be a mom thing.

Set the tone for the game...WI was just a step too slow.
I was watching my 6 year pick his nose while that boy was signing. Pretty cool for that boy. My kid...he's my kid.

Your kid probably dances better, though, when watchin' Soul Train, aina?
Vander looked legit excited when the Anthem was over.. I teared up. But it was probably more to do with being so enthralled with my patty melt. It was hella good. $8 tho.

I thought it was cool that the students backed him up as well.

Very cool.
The audio doesn't do it justice. The students were great and the energy really built throughout the whole song.
Everybody knew he was doing pretty well, and and when he hits the land of the freeeeee the place was ready to explode.
Great choice by MU.

A perfect moment. And I am willing to cut the Badger players some slack. Lots of heartfelt congratulations and a few moments of cameraderie.
That video is what life is all about. Perfect.....
Great moment for the kid. The audience grows louder as the song progresses. Seemed like the team sprinted to center court to congratulate him on a job well done. Very cool to see.
Really great moment, and it was cool to see both teams embrace the kid. Nice job by everyone involved.
I was looking for this on youtube to email to someone and noticed a number of videos with this young fella including singing the anthem at a MU womens hoops game and a soccer game when he was 3. I don't think I would have the guts to get out there and do that now even at my age let alone as a kid. Awesome job Cooper.

I got the impression that the UW players thought the MU players were heading over to shake hands before hand, then they got caught out there when MU swarmed Cooper Smith instead.
