It was Juan. Quite impressive.
Not the final nail but a big peg was DGs coast to coast drive.
Obvoiusly, that baseball pass worked to perfection. However, it could of just as easily turned into a turnover. It also only took 1 second off the clock.

Yes - but Junior was wide open. The entry pass was late in coming which allowed the rodent to catch up to Junior and make it closer than it needed to be. And while the in bounds pass may have been late, it was extremely accurate. So well done Junior and Vander (who was the in bounder, as I recall)

Quite a few blocks and forced adjusted shots in this game. If this game is played at the Kohl Center, that block by Juan and a few others are called fouls.
I am not saying they were actual fouls but bottom line is we don't get the benefit of the doubt in Madison.

We don't get the benefit of the doubt in Madison? We didn't get it in Milwaukee, The foul differential in the second half was 13-5 in Madison's favor right around the 4 minute mark in the 2nd half. This was at the same time that Madison had taken 21 3 point shots to Marquette's 5 in the game, which would lead one to believe that Marquette was driving the ball more, and thus should probably draw more fouls than a team that sits and shoots outside shots all day...but that was certainly not the way the game was called today. Madison got any and every call they wanted. It would have been no different in Madison than it was in Milwaukee.

You have to admit the Badgers always have large foul differentials in their favor. Even more so at the Kohl. I was surprised some of the blocks we had were not called fouls, especially the Gardner block.
I think the game was called fair, not in the Badger's favor. However in Madison, forget about it.

If we are going to olay the what if game... Inbounding under their basket with that pressure could also have turned to a turnover and if it did, it'd be a quick two points for UW.
Also did you see how we were shooting freethrows tonight? Take a shot at getting the easy layup or in this case getting the and-one.
Fouls were getting crazy in the second half. Jim Burr was blowing his whistle at anything and everything. I don't see how they (he) could have done anything much different had it been in Madison.

I felt like I kept waiting for make-up calls to even the disparity, which usually happens, and I think I saw one that was a clear make-up. The Badgers definitely got the better side of the whistle tonight. Though to the refs credit, Marquette could have been more aggressive trying to get to the rack.

This. There were a couple "interesting" calls, but it wasn't called unfairly.

Becky wasn't taking it to the rack and didn't seem to have any problem getting calls...

Marquette's defense was much more aggressive....Wisconsin's was sagging. Some of MU's fouls were not only deserved, but they were silly.

Play was open you take it. Points are just as good as time in that situation.

Doesn't matter if it only took off one second. You trade two points for one second anytime in that situation. In fact the only time you don't is when you are up by one and it's inside about 10 seconds.

Anybody who doesn't think you throw this pass is a little lacking in basketball knowledge. Every coach draws up this exact play and tells his kids to take it if it's there.

Under the circumstance we got 3 points, but when you go for that play you're expecting 2. Regardless, it was the right call. Absolute dagger as that ball fell out of the sky and into Junior's path.
Was that the exact same play they ran for Todd Mayo at the end of last year's game in Madison? I know it was a similar result obviously, but I don't know if it was the same play.
Looks like the TD pass is just an option on that play if it is open. Not sure if it option 1,2,3 or 4
I think Buzz said something about the fact that the Wiscy defender was fronting Junior and that the long pass in that situation is actually what they look for. The way I saw it, all of the Wiscy player were up face-guarding, looking for a steal. A little pick/bump and suddenly Junior is 15 feet behind his defender. Since that is the way it is drawn up, Blue might as well throw it.

I agree that none of it was outlandish, but after a while I was just wishing they (Jim Burr) would let them play. Some stupid touch fouls, sure, but there were also some calls that were unnecessary.
