Title: SOTG
Post by: Lighthouse 84 on December 08, 2012, 08:04:08 PM
Junior.  Close second by Van, but without Junior in the second half coming up HUGE, we lose.

Vander because he set the tone. Junior was big but Blue got it all started.

There have been days (nights) when Junior has driven me nuts. I have not been shy about badmouthing him. He is today's SOTG, going away.

QFT.  I don't even think it's close.  Without Junior this is an epic, embarrassing choke job.  Instead it's a 10 point victory over the evil ones.

I'm a huge Vander Blue fan, but my vote goes to Junior.

Vander gave us the cushion, then Junior helped us hang on. Junior gets my vote, but both were great.

Junior saved our bacon. Without his second-half performance, we lose. Vander was great in the 1st half when the lead was built. But Junior is SOTG.

If Junior and Vander play like this the rest of the year.    There is hope.   Need some help from the supporting cast.      Junior for SOTG.

Junior played with purpose and poise, as a senior leader should..

At the end of the first half, I could not see how anyone but Vander could be player of the game. However, the second half is more important than the first and Junior was the man in the second half. Even, if you thought it was even at that point you have to remember this game may of ended up vastly different, if Gardner does not put in a rebound basket after Blue missed the front end of a one and one late in the game. I would vote Cadougan anyways, but that missed free throw by Blue should seal the deal for Cadougan.

Vander may have set the tone in the first half, and he certainly was a big part of everything going right in the first half.  But Junior executed in the second half when the chips were down.  That's leadership.  He made me proud.

Junior gets my vote for SOTG.

BTW - I'm happy the site's back so I can vote for SOTG.....   :)

My God...junior!!!   I was biting my nails and cussing out my scotch in the 2nd half but JC came through big time with huge plays and an example by a senior to the rest of the squad.   I think the young uns' thought this game was over at half time and came out like it...Junior set the tone when the game got close and delivered.   Wow.

It is becoming clear why Vander was rated so high out of high school as he oozes talent and I think, especially after the first half tonight, it is clear he is becoming our best player...but Junior delivered the SOTG performance tonight.  Thank you Vander for a close 2nd...that first half was simply amazing and had to be extra sweet coming against the rodents.

Junior. Best game of his MU career.
I agree with this. By far his best game. Blue was solid in the first half, which is great...great game by him. But the player of the game was Cadaugan.

Yes, it's Junior, and Vander had a great game, as well.  Still, the highlight of the game for me was in the last five minutes when the TV color guy isolated on Gardener for an entire defensive possession to show how he shut down Wisconsin inside on that trip down the floor.  That has me really excited for the rest of the year.

There is no question it's Junior.  He was the offense for 10 minutes of the second half, and without him Wisconsin would have taken the lead and never looked back.  No one else was stepping up to score.

I didnt read a single reply on this thread but anyone who votes other than Junior needs to be committed ASAP. I have never been a Vander hater and I love the way he is stepping up this year but this game is all junior. We won the game because our senior point guard refused to lose.

Junior all the way.  Solid in the first half, great in the second and single-handedly turned the game around when things were going south in the second half.

Blue was the new and improved Blue in the first half but reverted to the old Blue in the 2nd.  He was excellent and disruptive on D throughout with the exception of early second half.

It has to be Junior. It was a four point game, and Junior said no. Nice work by Vander obviously.

Agree, it was exciting to see very little of the "hockey" substitutions between Gardner and Otule since Buzz was trusting Devante out there.  He still has a ways to go, has to get the emotions in check at times since it leads to many mistakes, though I'll take the fire all day.

Junior.

As for best game in his career, if I am remembering correctly, I think I'd put this just behind West Virginia in the Big East tournament two years ago.  Without that game we probably miss the NCAA's. I'd put this game just ahead of his game against Syracuse that same year to advance to the Sweet Sixteen.
