Title: Sold out games
Post by: Tugg Speedman on November 30, 2012, 09:51:06 PM
In looking at our schedule

http://wiki.muscoop.com/doku.php/men_s_basketball/2012#schedule

It's says Sat Jan 12 at Pitt and Sat Feb 23 against Nova at the Wells Fargo Center are already sold out.

What is the story with these games?

Pitt always sells out. Not sure about Nova.

Pitt only seats 11,438 so this makes sense.

Nova however is a different story.  Normally we play them at the Pavillion which seats 6500.  The Wells Fargo Center seats 20,318.

Just checked their schedule, it's incorrectly marked on there. MU plays them at the Pavilion this year.

If it's the Pavilion it will be sold out plus. Reminds me a lot of DePaul's Alumni Hall, one of the all-time great band boxes. Seated about 5,300. The walls were just behind the baskets like in a high school gym so guys ran into the wall. One of the greatest moments was Rory Sparrow driving the lane and dropping in a layup. He kept running through the doors right behind the basket and disappeared. Turns out he had the runs and soiled himself when he left the floor. Literally shat himself.

Another time Al had to be restrained by Chones and Lackey from running into the stands after hecklers. DePaul lost a lot when they moved to the Rosemont.
