Title: Bilas Index: Rankings
Post by: BM1090 on November 28, 2012, 12:07:10 PM
19. Marquette Golden Eagles (Previous ranking: No. 28)

Marquette played in the consolation bracket of the Maui Invitational because Butler's Rotnei Clarke hit a crazy shot to win the opening game (one that was well defended). But for that shot, it would have been Marquette playing Illinois for the title. The Golden Eagles have good guards, a load in Davante Gardner and an emerging star in Vander Blue. Despite the loss to Butler, this is a very good team.

And just for fun.......

51. Wisconsin Badgers (Previous ranking: No. 49)

The Badgers are still a good team and will continue to get better, but Wisconsin would be really solid with Josh Gasser running the point. Without Gasser, Wisconsin lacks direction at the point and a Big Ten All-Defensive Team guard. The losses at Florida and Creighton were understandable, as Bo Ryan can't work miracles every single game (it just seems that way). If only he could make young guards older.
