Title: Crean's Sideline Vinegar Strokes
Post by: wadesworld on November 27, 2012, 09:24:44 PM
Watching Tom Crean pace the sidelines nonstop is almost more entertaining than this IU vs. UNC game itself.  Tom Crean's sideline vinegar strokes are ridiculous.  Maybe the world's second biggest used car salesman (Dukie V) just called Tom Crean a salesman going into halftime.  That's when you know you have a problem.

They don't seem to be having a problem.

Ahh, Chico's back to defend his boy!  Where's Hoopaloop?!

Ole Roy is in for a long season. He sat idly by on those series of break outs, failing to call a time out on the road as IU ran the floor. He doesn't have his usual talent to ride these first half runs out any more. He looked dumbfounded as he let his time outs grow moss. Was MU really the best team in Maui?

I said THEY don't seem to have a problem.  Very good team...Michigan will challenge them for the B1G championship.  Alumni are quite pleased.

I'm sure it's a coincidence, but hoopaloop used to be an extremely regular and high volume poster. Now I see he hasn't posted a thing since late June, although his account was last active in early November ... when did CBB return?

(Psst...it's not a coincidence, it has been known for quite some time that Chicos = Hoop).

Question: IU has 16 players on its roster (they had 18 in uniform tonight). Only three are seniors, and Crean has six freshmen coming in next year. Is IU operating on a 25-man roster?

Incorrect.

Come next November come on out for the classic here in the OC, beer's on me.  Rob already said he's coming out. I truly hope some of you do, you are more than welcome to stop by any time.   Should be fun and a tournament we should roll through.

Screw the backyard beer and Disney tickets...where is the DTV/Scoop Suite?  :D

They are oversigned for next year, much like MU is oversigned for next year.  Zeller is going pro.  More than likely Hartman to a prep school. One transfer.  That's my guess

Squirmy.  I don't like it.  In fact, I hate it.

If it was at the Honda Center, we would be golden.  My former boss runs the joint.  Unfortunately it is at the Anaheim Convention Center a few miles away, which has zero suites.  Not the most attractive facility to play in, but that's the way it goes.

I don't see how oversigned by 3 is "much like MU". We are not oversigned at all as of now and will only be oversigned by 1 IF Otule petitions for and is granted another year.

You can only oversign by one...at least that was my recollection.

That'd be awesome and I'll seriously look into taking you up on that.  If not then, we go out to Anaheim for volleyball every summer.  Mid June.  Have played at the Anaheim Convention Center the last 3 years (although in the actual Convention Center, not in the Dome).  Before then we have been at the Anaheim Sports Center, about a mile away.  We stay in Placentia?  I think it is.  Find me then.  Can I get some free TV coupons?  ;)

While everyone in Indiana plays basketball, contrary to popular belief, evidently everyone does try out for the team.

IU has enough walkons to field a JV team... as well as teams at IUPUI, IPFW, IU-South Bend, IU-Southeast, IU-Gary, etc.

Jeez, guys, turn the page already. TC did a fine job at MU, but he left for a bigger, better program. IU is one of the elite jobs in college hoops. And unlike MU, they know what conference they're playing in next year.

Time to give it a rest. It's not like TC left to coach at New Mexico State. He left for one of the top five jobs in college basketball. It was a no-brainer. His huge recruiting successes—and their current #1 ranking—show he made a wise decision.

Thanks for the input Badger lover.

The point remain, Tom Crean's vinegar strokes on the sideline are absolutely hilarious to watch.  Anybody disagree?

As we should know by now, preseason tourneys are made for TV, not made for fans, affairs.

Badger lover? Nothing could be further from the truth. Anyway, if you want to play the spurned lover who can't get over a breakup, go for it. You're only embarrassing yourself.

Spurned lover?  I do agree, Crean acts like a pedophile sometimes, but I was way too young to care about a coach.  It was all about the players for me when Crean was at Marquette.  I respect what Crean did for Marquette University and the basketball program and understand we would not be where we are without having what he did for the program, but I am glad that Buzz is now our guy.  Tom Crean is as phony as it gets.  Just watch him pace the sidelines and the faces he makes.  Hilarious stuff.

Alright this is post # 22 in a Tom Crean thread with no contribution from 4ever.  Time to have the cops go by his crib for a wellness check.

Takes for the concern, Murray, but I was humpin' to please. Barely had time to wiz. BTW, Crean's got those vinegar strokes down, mainly cuz he's dippin' in battery acid or hyper-caffeinated Diet Pepsi.

Arizona State?  10-21 last year.  Miami is ok, NIT team last year.  SDSU is a good team.  Creighton I would qualify as a very good team.

Next year, we should be better than all of those teams.

I don't care what teams were last year. A team's performance in '11-'12 has nothing to do with how they will be in '13-'14.

Arizona State was awful last year, yes. You know who was sitting out? Jahii Carson. He's playing now, and he's a freaking stud. Sendek's an excellent coach, no idea why they struggled so bad last year. Plus he's got NBA coaching vet Eric Musselman on his staff now. I think they'll be much improved this season (they already are) and will be better yet next year.

Miami just beat Michigan State last night. Last year, winning @ Duke was the highlight of the season. Beat Top 20 Florida State. This season, preseason pick for 4th in the ACC.

As you mentioned, San Diego State and Creighton are very good teams.

Yeah, what a terrible field... ::)
