So I was out to eat last night and they had the IU/Sam Houston game on in the background and it got me wondering how Erik Williams is doing. Except he hasn't racked up any stats for the team this year after three game although he is on the roster.
So I went to a couple Sam Houston message boards (yes, they exist) and they are as stumped as I am why he has been MIA for their first three games. Hope things are going OK for him...
Good question ... He has played zero minutes despite Sam Houston State winning over Hardin-Simmons 82-31 (no typo!) and losing to IU 99 - 45.
Two 50 points differential games and they cannot find a reason to put him on the floor? Not good.
Could never figure that guy out. Had all the tools to be a nice college player.
And Buzz made the S16 with him starting. Thought for food.

Any talk about their coach leaving?
Had this same question yesterday. I didn't have the skill to find the Sam Houston message boards in the deep web though. Searched for something that might say he was hurt, but came up empty. Strange.

Having him play the first few minutes of each half to keep Jae out of foul trouble isn't really making "the S16 with him starting".

Yes, but it is technically correct
I heard he's working out with the Rockets. Their GM was reading Scoop a couple years ago and heard he has "Tracy McGrady-like skills"...... ;D

Did he ask Clark Francis?

Hahahahahahaha Oh my god that is hilarious.
So after playing two games and shooting 6-27 (5-21 from three), he's now completely off the Sam Houston roster.

From KatNation Forum:
Erik Williams name is not on the roster anymore. Too bad he was really talented. Watching him play he did seem very selfish. Shot it every time he got it. Took a ton of 3's in just 2 games. Would have loved to have seen him work out because he was really talented. But in the long run it will make the team better.
too bad the kid couldn't find a situation that worked for him.
This really confuses me. The kid wasn't the college player we hoped he would be, but he wasn't a complete disaster at MU. Now he can't stick at Sam Houston? Must have some serious conflicts with the coaching staff. And what the hell is he doing shooting threes? Did Tim Maymon take him under his wing?
