The movie sucks and so does the remix of Streets. Both terrible F! Who did that remix - someone who is tone deaf and knows nothing about electronic music? The whole point of remix is to try and do it better, not suck donkey balls.

Starting to think that we should scratch "Streets" for something else.  I thought the song was awesome for the Crean era but it still is  not Marquette's  brand even after playing it all these years.

Cool video just not right for intros. They could at least throw in a few highlights from last season. Was a bit of a buzzkill.

The history of Marquette basketball was really cool this year. They added the 2010 decade with DJO and Jae.

No they just completely skipped Jimmy.

Thought the videos were good but not something to pump up the crowd. The OSU warmup was a lot better.

It is distressing to me that they skip Jimmy because he is probably my very favorite MU player in the NBA right now. They can't flash his name and the game winner against Rutgers?

I think Jimmy is not in there because he was not an All-American or honorable mention.

Someone needs to readdress the criteria then. The guy was a 1st round pick...

I agree that it may be time for "Streets Have No Name" to go. It's a fine song, but definitely feels more like the previous era than this one.

And does anyone know the exact criteria for getting in there? Baffles me how Roney Eford is in and JFB isn't.

I think there is a minimum criteria for total points scored...at least that is what I heard last year when the issue came up

Because it is difficult to find enough'90s guys after Jimmy Mac. Jimmy B might be just a bit of a slight but both DJO and Jae were AA and both went to 2 Sweet 16s.

Eford was Great Midwest Conference 2nd Team  ;)

It's a shame Jimmy isn't up there. I can't imagine what criteria he's not meeting.

They have a formula that takes in to account various things such as position on all time MU stat lists, all-american status, tournament success, etc.  I believe making it to the NBA also factors in as well.

I'd like to see Jimmy up there to, but he doesn't qualify using the criteria they use now.

I'd honestly like to know how he doesn't. He scored over 1200 points in three years, went to three tournaments and a Sweet 16, and was a first-round NBA draft pick. He got snubbed by the Big East as a senior because the league put 10 guards in their 11-man first and second team.

I just don't get how he doesn't qualify.

I think they usually mix in highlights as the year goes on, so the video should evolve and will probably be fine.

Not a huge deal, to me anyways.

Anyone who says it's time for Streets to be replaced will be banned.

DON'T YOU PEOPLE REMEMBER THE FAT BOY SLIM FIASCO????

.. That being said .. I thought the remix was mildly OK, except the sound was distorted .. I mean, that crappy bass couldn't be part of the remix, right?  It was the BC speakers that were messed up..?

Kinda stupid. Looks like they're trying to sell T-shirts at the AMU shop.

Rather see Al or someone.. say Bo ... atop a rim after just winning a national championship. Isn't that what we're after? Or is it t-shirt sales?

Thanks, Chili!

The remix is AWFUL.

I don't mind the video too much, but it is really hard to beat last year's. That one was awesome.

Streets is such a terrible song, I can't believe it has somehow been made worse...

Until...

/Streets mixed w/ the Rednex remix of "Cotton Eye Joe".
http://youtu.be/ddgyg_5FF_0 (http://youtu.be/ddgyg_5FF_0)

/sticks head in oven

Streets is 25 years old. It has always been terrible. GET RID OF IT.

At least MU stopped using wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tubes

The University of Alaska Hockey Team still has the best intro videos ever:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8THGqrjUDGI

I could see us do a version of this wear the bball players, dressed in flight suits, do the slow "Right Stuff" walk before getting into their fighter jets  - and then bomb Notre Dame, Wisconsin, etc.

Probably not in keeping with Jesuit principles, though....

Agreed, and Benedictine University has the best recruiting video.

The video isn't the worst I've seen, but it doesn't dazzle me either. MU should speak with whomever does intro videos for the NBA. I've seen some cool ones. Also, it's time to retire Streets. It served its purpose and had a nice run...but it's time for something fresh.

Butler has more career points than Crowder, and the same number of points as DWade.

At the least he should get a video clip without his name shown like Robert Jackson.

Crowder was here was two seasons and got to two sweet sixteens and won big east player of the year.  I love Jimmy but I wouldn't put him ahead of Crowder.

Not that it matters, but I'd expect someone listing Jimmy Butler as his very favorite MU player in the NBA right now to know that neither of his game-winners was against Rutgers.

The intro video this year looks like a recruiting video for the university rather than a pump up video for pre-game.  Went back and looked at last year's video.  It was soooo much better.  The end scene with Jae staring into the camera from his seat on the bus gets me fired up just sitting at my desk.
