Ohio State is #4 - MU is for sure the underdog...Buzz will thrive on this all season again!
So if MU beats OSU, how high do we jump into week 2's rankings?
I say 22, just cracking the top 25

Love seeing OSU ranked in the Top 5. As if a marquee game played on an aircraft carrier wasn't motivation in itself, the opportunity to beat a top ranked team will help foster Buzz's mantra of playing the underdog role.
I know we lost Jae. I know DJO is in a Lakers jersey. I know this team has many question marks (name a team that doesn't) - but am I the only one who thinks we're better (right now) than half of those teams?
No? Just me? Fine...I'll put down my glass of blue & gold kool-aid.
I do. I think we're really good.
I think we will be better than last year, but the record might not reflect it. We were 10-0 before we lost to LSU. We will not be favored against Ohio St., Florida and North Carolina(?) and last year we probably would not of won those games either. In addition to those non-conference games we have games with Butler, Wisconsin, LSU and at UW-Green Bay. The non-conference schedule is daunting and I do not see how we end up with an 11-2 non-conference record like last year. I can see us finishing second in the Big East again.
I think the fact that OSU will be looking past us at a big match up with Albany should help

tOSU is ranked #4 and not even the best team in their conference. I'm sure some hope that doesn't continue.
Preseason rankings really are a shot in the dark, but seriously, I'd rather be ranked #4 than not ranked at all.

Agree. Safe to say that teams in the preseason top 5 generally outperform those ranked 40-45.

Unless you're UCONN last year. Woof.
Not surprised MU is not ranked. Having said that the preseason rankings mean absolutely nothing. There is no reason to look at the rankings until December. My guess is that we will be hovering in and out of the top 25 all year long. Probably one of the toughest non conference schedules we have had in a while.
we've gotten this far without anyone mentioning that TC's Hoosiers are #1? i'm shocked.
