Title: Can someone who is close to a basketball program tell me...
Post by: KenoshaWarrior on October 16, 2012, 09:44:24 PM
Is recruiting just like Blue Chips and He got Game, or is that all made up.

I tend to think it is real cause most likely they did not pull that stuff from thin air right?

I heard Avatar was based on a true story.

Always remember, Kenosha, money talks and bullsheet walks. Also saw a case of Trojans being unloaded at The Al today.

If recruiting was like He Got Game, there would be no collegiate sports outside of Texas, California and the southeast.

It for sure happens, just look at Reggie Bush, The North Carolina football team when Butch Davis was coach, the whole Cam Newton thing (even though they didn't prove anything), LaMichael James, the OJ Mayo scandal, etc. I know those are mostly football issues but I guarantee similar things happen with basketball.

Also I guarantee that clean recruiting happens more than dirty recruiting but to say everything is 100% clean and legal is just absurd.

In James Cameron's mind it was.

The truth is, there are THOUSANDS of recruiting trips made by prospective college athletes every year.

We hear about a handful of undesirable occurrences. Certainly some weird stuff never get revealed.

But, think about the percentages. THOUSANDS of visits every year, and we hear about a couple. I don't know if it's as dirty as we think (on the whole).

Now, at the uber-elite level, certainly the temptations to cheat grow exponentially, but outside of Stone, I don't think MU is on an uber-elite guys right now.

In James Cameron's mind it was.

Let's not tarnish the name of the world's bravest pioneer... no budget too steep, no sea too deep, and a dying thirst to be the first.

James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron.  James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is James Cameron.
