Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I was watching ESPN and noticed Jimmy B's name pop up on the ESPN tracker. Apparently, he started tonight. 9 points so far- great to see!

Check out this one-handed tip dunk Jimmy had, on the side of the screen under video.
video is called "The Butler did it"

also, looking at the box score, Jimmy so far has played 41 minutes out of a possible 41 minutes. Hasnt went to the bench once.

yup, he ended up playing all 48 minutes! Got to think that Thibodeau was testing him somehow. He had a few turnovers, but other than that I think he did pretty well... especially with his D.

surprising that Jimmy only took 4 shots in 48 minutes though, as he has had around 5-10 shots in less time the past few games. Ended up with 9 points on 2-4 shooting, 8 rebounds, 3 assists.

Yeah that's true. He really did pass up on a lot of shots tonight. I'd find it hard to believe that Thibs wouldn't at least warn him that he'd be playing so many minutes, so maybe he knew not to force it?

If he can hack it under Buzz, I think he can hack it under Tibs. Not sure anyone puts guys in more of a pressure cooker than our HC does.
Tribune article on start.

With this roster Jimmy is going to get a lot of minutes all year long I think. Thibs has always valued guys who play good D (Boozer aside). There's a reason they drafted him higher than was expected.
It certainly looks like Thibs trusts Butler and thinks he can be a contributor. That being said, Thibs has not been shy in riding Deng into the ground.

The only thing more worthless than the NBA season is the NBA preseason. I wouldn't read much into it.
